A sign on the classroom door reads "Class in the Danger Shop today."

Upon entering the Danger Shop, there's sand all around and a bright blue sky. To their right is a series of groundworkings and trenches, not unlike those they would have seen in the Death in Sakkara adventure. To their left, what looked to be a temple

"Welcome to Egypt," Daniel smiled at the students. He's not in his usual suit; rather an old and faded ~~and snug~~ pair of jeans and a t-shirt that looks like it's seen better days. And who could miss the bandana around his head? "Today, we're going to be doing some digging. And if you like, you can also take some time to explore the temple.

"Now, even though this isn't real, I'd like for you to pretend that it is. The things that you will hopefully be finding would be thousands of years old in the real world, and very delicate.

Also, in lieu of a final project, I'd like for you to write up an excavation report, detailing what you did and what you found."

[[ooc: There might be mummies. There might be other creepy desert things. After all, Daniel's not an expert with this technology! However, I might be forced to be social this evening. Woes. If I'm not around, mod the bizzareness to your wishes]]

Blair is happily digging away, doodling in a notebook and getting dirt everywhere.

"How you doing down there, Blair?" Daniel asked, crouching up at the top.

Blair grinned up, a streak of dirt across his forehead. "I'm great! I haven't found a thing!"

He waved a trowel at Daniel, flinging dirt towards him. "This rocks!"

Oh if it's one think Pippi like, it's exploring and thing-finding.

Dig. Explore. Dig. Explore. No contest. Molly followed Pippi.

It is possible that the two roommates being in the same place and interacting with eachother could cause a rift in the space/time... thingy.

Or maybe they'd just have fun.

"Hay Molly! Isn't this place grand?"

Molly was rubber-necking like whoa, trying to see everything at once. "Oh, yeah. Cooooool."

Pippi was going to say something, but she's noticed the paintings on the ceiling.

Molly noticed Pippi looking up, so she looked up as well. "Way cool," she said and tilted her head back so far, she had to take a step back to keep herself from falling backwards.

"It's the night sky..." Said Pippi. "That's awesome."

"It records specific constellations of the night sky along with the various decans or calendar units," Daniel explained, popping up from somewhere. "The Ancient Egyptians would divide night sky into 36 groups of star-gods or constellations. These groups were known as decons, and each specific decan rose above the horizon at dawn for a period of ten days every year. The brightest and most important of these was the dog star Sirius, otherwise known as the goddess Sopdet. The ceilings of many royal tombs depict the night sky as groups of star-gods or decons, moving across the sky in boats."

"Oh!" said Pippi, "It's beautiful! What's down that way?"

Pippi pointed deeper into the temple.

"Let's go see," Molly said and headed the way Pippi pointed.

Pippi followed Molly into what appeared to be a shrine to Sekhmet.

"Oh! Cat woman. Is this Bastet?"

Molly went to talk to Dr. Jackson before she did anything else. "I'm sorry I missed class on Tuesday, Dr. Jackson. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until class was over."

"Don't worry about it, Molly," Daniel assured her. "We only went over the excavation methods ready for today. If you need help at any point, don't hesitate to ask."

"Thank you, Dr. Jackson," Molly said with a relieved smile and turned to follow Pippi into the temple.

Pippi hands in a report about the boats of Egypt. Their construction and importance to the culture. From the reed rafts used by fishermen to Cleopatra's barge. How the Nile is unique in that the boats could float on the current down river, but then raise sails and use the power of the wind to go up it. Obviously this is a good subject for Pippi, it tends to ramble a bit regarding the differences in sailing on a river and on the open sea.

Daniel glanced down at the report and smiled. "Thank you, Pippi," he said. "This looks very interesting, and I look forward to reading it."

"You're very welcome!" she said, "Thank you for letting me turn it in late!"
