"Thank you," Elizabeth said quietly, managing to smile. She laughed slightly as she pulled away. "Anytime. And who knows? Maybe our paths will cross again?"

"You're welcome. I don't doubt we'll meet up again. Maybe at Harvard!"

"That's always a possibility," Elizabeth nodded, smiling. "I'd be certain to take another class from you."

"I'd be happy to have you. But teaching at Harvard? I'm not that dull."

"Well, I never thought I'd end up teaching at Georgetown, so there we have it," Elizabeth grinned.

"It's funny how things work out, huh?" she grinned before taking another sip. "One thing I've learned from this place...never say never."

"It's a good thing to have learnt, yeah," Elizabeth grinned. "Even when something seems fairly certain, and it's set in stone, things can change in the blink of an eye."

"That's so very true." she nodded, "Not just here, though. Life's like that."

Elizabeth laughed slightly. "You're telling me," she said ruefully, looking down at herself.

"Elizabeth?" she said softly, "Do you really want it back? Your before life?"

"I want," Elizabeth hesitated for a moment. "I want to be able to vote. I want to be able to drink without using fake ID. I want to have my own house again, my own car. I want to be Dr. Weir again."

With a nod and a smile, she leaned in closer. "You can do anything you set your mind to, E. You want it back? Get it back."

She laid her hand on Elizabeth's shoulder. "There has to be a way. Never say never."

"That's what I'm going to do," Elizabeth nodded. "It's just going to take time, which, okay, not exactly something I can hurry but I can wait. I have to wait."

"It's good to hear you say that. Don't lose hope...you'll find a way."

Elizabeth nodded. "It's easier the second time round. That's something at least."

"Small blessings." she said with a nod. "You've got that whole 'if I'd only known then' thing going for you."

"Exactly. I know what to avoid, and it's giving me the chance to make different decisions and try out new things."

"Oh? Like what?"

"Well, relaxing in the middle of finals," Elizabeth laughed. "I did that last night, and that's something new for me!"

She laughed softly, nodding. "Yeah, I understand that. It's hard for me to relax, too. The trials of being us, huh?"

Elizabeth grinned. "Yeah. I'm better at relaxing during the rest of the year, but during finals? Normally all bets are off!"
