Boxes are getting filled with books and such. Shelves are being wiped down.

"There was something with Chris LeDoux and llamas," Josh said slowly, "so I think it's entirely possible that they might have also elected Pluie to be the Senator from Montana."

He grinned. "They were good kids, though. Not nearly irritating as, say, members of Congress."

"I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone you don't like more than congress, Josh." she said, arching her eyebrow. "I know you too well. Hey, did you get a message from Sam?"

Josh ran a hand through his hair. "Not terribly recently, no. I've been giving him some time after the special election."

"Huh. I had a message on my phone, but it was garbled and when I tried to call him back the signal was non-existant. I'll have to try once I'm back in DC. How do you think he's doing? After that?"

"He knew he didn't really have a shot in hell of winning," Josh said. "So I'm sure he'll be fine. He just needs some time to, you know, wallow. Decide what else he wants to do."

She snorted, "You should tell him there's an opening for a speech teacher."

One more beat and she brayed out a laugh, covering her mouth as she leaned against her desk with the other hand.

"Care to share the joke?" Josh asked, eyebrows raised.

"Just Sam. Here. Of course...if he can handle Toby and his ball, he can probably handle anything. Like vampires. And glitter." she calmed gradually. "Plus you'd have each other and that would strike fear into the hearts of, um, some."

Josh's eyes sparkled. "Or water randomly falling from the ceiling. Or weetiny bunnies." He started laughing. "I'm not sure whether he'd run screaming back to California or refuse to ever leave Fandom again."

He gave her a very fake hurt look. "And we could totally scare people. Just not, um, anyone who's not a freshman, I'm guessing."

"Yeah, you two are kind of frightening when you get together. Just don't take him to the Fourth Sin. He doesn't need another prostitute friend."

Josh laughed. "Yeah, that would be bad. Especially since one of them apparently looks like a student here, which just leads to all kinds of badness."

He gestured vaguely out the door. "I should probably grade things and, um, stuff, before you decide that I need to help you move boxes or something."

"Move boxes? Great idea." she grinned. "Actually, I was going to ask if you wanted to drop by tomorrow night and take a few bottles of wine so I don't have to drink or move them."

"I can do that," Josh said. He gave her a small smile. "As long as you don't tell Donna. She thinks I can't hold my licquor."

"Josh...I won't have to tell Donna. She'll just know. She's like that." she smiled back, "I think she likes you."

"Of course she likes me," Josh said, completely oblivious. "I'm very likeable."

"You really are, Josh." she said, shaking her head at his naivete. "I always said you were sweet. So...sweet enough to carry some boxes?" she asked with a wicked grin.

Josh rolled his eyes, but walked over to where the boxes were stacked up. "I suppose," he said. "But not to Carol's house or anything."

She rolled her eyes, "Oh come on." she said with a fake sigh. "Just down to 128."

"And no gluing them together."

Josh followed along behind.

"How about Saran Wrap?"

She glared at him back over her shoulder. "I take it back. Not sweet in the least."

Josh pouted. "Just asking."

He shifted the box he was carrying. "And I'm hauling your stuff for you. I think that should upgrade me to 'tolerable' at least."

"Tolerable. I can do tolerable. You might even work your way up to pleasant if you aren't careful." she said without breaking her stride.

[[off to class, back in 3 hours]]

"Oh, to dream," Josh muttered, being sure to be loud enough to be heard.

"If you can dream it, you can do it, Josh." she said in a sing song voice, obviously mocking that plaque. She set her box down and fumbled for her keys, then let herself in. "Thanks for helping." she said as she slid her stack in the room.

"I'd say any time, but that would mean I'd, you know, want to move boxes for you again." Josh grinned. "Which I don't."

He waved as he walked back down the hall. "See you tomorrow."
