Archaeology For Fun and Profit! - Tuesday, First Period
Your teachers had absolutely not been pre-gaming out of nerves this morning.
Isabela had been pre-gaming in solidarity. There was a difference.
"Welcome to Archaeology for Fun and Profit, the first university level archaeology course taught by me. I mean here. First course taught here by me, specifically. Because I've totally taught this level elsewhere." Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away, Korin Aphra was so, so proud. Like legit proud. "Anyway, I'm Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, rogue archaeologist."
"Captain Isabela. Pirate."
"And if you're wondering why a pirate is teaching archaeology, that's because at its heart, archaeology is just graverobbing with better paperwork. Because dead people have the best stuff and complain less when you take it.."

And there were so many. She'd heard about that trader back in Meridian who collected cheesy ancient souvenir coffee mugs and honestly, who was to say he was wrong about them being used for an important daily ritual?
"Plus," she added with a sheepish smile, "the old holo-films made it look really fun."

Suddenly, his attention shifted, eyes wide, as his head turned sharply and he stared off to the side for a while, then he shook his head and sent his attention back. "Sorry, I thought I saw the biggest bug, but I think it was just a trick of the light. Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah, that's right, introductions! I'm Graham, I think I already said that part, and I'm taking this class because it sounded like fun! I mean, it's right there in the title! And I also like profit! I don't know much about archeology, though I'm sure I'll like that! And just the other day, I found a totally unopened package of Pop Tarts in my pocket that I'd completely forgotten about! And it was a S'mores one, too! It was so good!"
He...was not difficult to please, that Graham.
"So that was pretty great, but before that, I'd have to say the coolest thing I've found was a rock once that was definitely possessed with the spirit of Harold the Horrible. His face was on it and everything! It was horrible, but it was also very cool."
