Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, Saturday, All Day

If anyone in Fandom could control the weather, they weren't doing a particularly good job with it today. It was quite hot and sticky outside, so the lawn was filled with as many pop-up tents as could be acquired to provide some well-needed shade. There were plenty of cool drinks and moddable food that would hopefully survive the heat--it might not have felt like summer would be ending any time soon, but it was time to celebrate the coming fall nonetheless!

Liz was trying to stay as distracted as possible with these next few days so she thought spending some time at the Welcome Picnic would help, “I think Noctra’s starting to get the hang of the camera,” she said fondly as she watched her start to chew on her toy.

Prompto had to give Liz a faint grin at that. "Maybe she should be teaching my class instead of me," he mused. "She's a natural. Photography's practically in her blood, right?"

A sentiment that had him now giving Liz a little bit of a nudge of his shoulder and a smile. He still wasn't quite to the level of being as open and loose with expressing himself as he usually was yet, but it was something, it was a start, he was slowly but surely getting there again.

Liz giggled at that, "Oh absolutely, even though maybe we shouldn't given her one of the fancy ones just yet, I think she would just start to chew through those," she gave a fond smile at the little shoulder nudge, she knew this was a lot for Prompto and she was pleased to see some of that openness return.

"Yeah," Prompto snorted just a little, "pretty sure when they talk about moving onto solid food, they don't mean photography equipment. But, hey, at least with the stock we have in the store, if turns out that's all she can eat, we don't have to worry about her going hungry."

Liz giggled at that, “that’s true, she really does enjoy her food, at least she’s not going to be bored with the variety,” she smiled fondly.

Prompto just took a moment to appreciate that giggle and that Noctra seemed pretty content at the moment, too, considering Liz a little before asking, "You doing okay, though? Need me to get anything for you?"

Liz considered her response and nodded, “I’m doing okay,” she assured him, “I think I just needed to get out of the house, spend time outside,” she was t sure how she was going to be come Tuesday but right then, being with Noctra and Prompto wads what she needed, “actually maybe some food doesn’t sound too bad? I could go for some chocolate right now,” she looked up at Prompto hopefully.

"When can't you go for some chocolate?" asked Prompto, with a small chuckle and a fond smile, and he leaned in to give her a quick kiss. "I'll see what I can manage. BRB, okay?"

Liz gratefully returned the quick kiss, looking a little sheepish, "okay, I'll wait right here," she told him with a smile.
