Team-Building for Fun and Profit! - Thursday, Third Period [08/10].

Given the current situation, Ignis wasn't sure he'd have much of a class that week. He wasn't even sure he could even think of a good lesson, and he knew most people had other important things on their minds, too.

But he was also feeling a bit...ineffectual, and restless, and, if anything, it might be a good forum to discuss ideas and brainstorm or even just sort of consider what one is to do when their team is significantly diminished in unexpected and frustratingly obscure ways.

He didn't even know if anyone would bother showing up, but he was there, in case anyone did.

"I do hope you're remembering to eat," Ignis said, unable to keep a small chiding tone out of his voice, but, well, fussing was one of the things he did best, "and staying hydrated. And I can't but thinking...perhaps it's something entirely different, but Insomnia used to be protected by a magical barrier thanks to a crystal. And Noctis was trapped in a crystal for the duration of the Long Night. Perhaps something similar is happening to those who have disappeared, and that very same crystal is projecting a barrier against interlopers. Of course, if we can't penetrate the barrier, it hardly matters what it is keeping everyone inside."

He didn't know what Nell or anyone else could do with this speculation, but sometimes you just had to get your thought out there just to get them out of your head.

"Haven't been the best about eating," Nell admitted, "and I'm sure I've had more coffee than is healthy, but after class I promise I'll try and eat something. What about you? You need to eat and stay hydrated too."

She chuckled a little wryly. "Maybe I should make something for you so you'll eat and you should do the same for me."

His explanation matched a lot of what she'd been thinking. "I kind of thought that myself. Don't know how to get in, but there must be a way."

She was quiet for a moment trying to figure out how to say what she wanted to say. "Marc might have ideas - or one of his gods might - and with Steven's Detective missing he'll care about it. He won't listen to me - won't have anything to do with me since I did whatever it was to offend him months ago - but maybe if you talked to him, told him what we think..."

"I assure you," said Ignis, "eating has not been a problem."

With all the spare time spent on cooking for distraction without a burly roommate with a healthy appetite to help him out with it, he had food to last him for weeks.

Actually, perhaps he should swing by Liz's again, to replenish her own supplies.

He nodded, then. "I shall have to see if I can track him down,then," he said. "At this point, any sharing of information is helpful. Certainly better than nothing."

Oh, Nell had food and baked goods filling her house and had brought more to Liz yesterday, she just wasn't as good at eating it.

She nodded. "Anything could help."

Ignis just truly hated having things just go to waste, and he knew he wasn't much good to anyone if he let self-care fall to the wayside.

This time, though, his nod came with a faint, reassuring sort of smile. "I think," he said, "the more minds put to the task, the closer we are to finally solving this particular puzzle. We're getting closer, w have it figured out soon."

Nell had never needed to be much good for anyone before. She took care of herself because someone had to, but didn't give it much thought beyond that. Still, once this headache calmed down a bit she'd eat more.

"Of course we are," Nell said with a certainty she didn't quite feel, but was working on. "With the whole island working together we'll have it figured out in no time."

"This place does seem to have an excellent track record with these sorts of things," Ignis added, which was basically his way of expressing his utter relief that this did not end up being something solely related to Eos and everything that might bring.

Nell was relieved as well, think being Nell she had to admit to a little sadness that Gladio most likely had NOT been reunited with his sister. Most of her, however, was just hopeful that this meant she'd get to see him again.

"It does," she said. "Somehow things tend to work out here in whatever weird manner it takes."
