The Art of Laziness; Tuesday, Second Period [07/11].
Ahhh, yes. It had been that weekend. The weekend that could only make a Shinigami trying to avoid his job feel nothing but twitchy, a weekend that made his Zanpakutō so loud he could barely hear anything else. The occasional fellow individual with a decidedly un-alive state of being that coexisted on the island with him wasn't an issue, but a whole influx of them that weren't really supposed to be there always felt like Hollow-bait to Shunsui, and even though he knew that wouldn't be an issue here, it still made him feel like he should be doing something about it, and that, clearly, would not stand.
Besides, there was always the chance that someone might show up for him, and, considering the possible candidates...Shunsui had been out of there the moment he felt the shift on Souls on the island, with no intention of returning until it was time for his class on Tuesday morning, with the confidence and reassurance that it had well passed by then.
And so there he was, having just arrived with enough time to make some tea and get settled in the usual spot under the tree by the duck pond, for his students to arrive, and when they did and also got settled, he met them with his usual lazy smile.
"Ohayo, my lovely scholars of laziness ♥," he greeted, "and welcome back to our second lesson ♥. Today, I'd like to talk about a very important tool for the Art of Laziness, and that is something we like to call delegation ♥. To delegate is to entrust another person with a task or mission or other such thing so that they may do it for you, thus opening the door for you to continue being lazy while these trusted individuals do all the hard work ♥. If you're lucky, you'll be able to find someone who actually rather enjoys doing the hard work, one who is motivated by accomplishment, as a nice counterbalance to one motivated by laziness, such as yourself. I must admit, I am currently doubly lucky in that respect, as my Lieutenant back home is an ambitious young woman who excels at taking on tasks with alacrity and precision, and my manager here on the island is very much the same ♥. There is rarely a task where I feel I don't trust them to accomplish it far better than I ever could ♥.
"And," here, he chuckled faintly into a sip of tea, "with that in mind, I will inform you that I have not actually made a lesson plan for today. In fact, I have decided to delegate that task to you all ♥. So, let me ask: what shall we do today? The assignment is entirely in your hands ♥."
Never let it be said that Shunsui did not excel in teaching certain topics best by leading by example, neh?
