All Journalism Classes, April 26

As the students filed in, there was a remarkable lack of blond British witch at the desk. Instead Callisto and Krycek stood at the front of the class, the main screen turned on.

"Professor Skeeter's out for today," Krycek greeted them, seeming somewhat smug. "She's asked us to stand in for her."

"And we think you'll find our lesson very useful," Callisto smirked. "When you're a journalist, sometimes the most important thing is knowing when to run a story."

"Opportunity is key," Krycek agreed. "So we're taking this one to educate you on a subject we're sure you'll all find very fascinating."

"Thanks to an anonymous source, several weeks ago we came into possession of some very interesting information about a member of the Fandom High faculty." Callisto gestured towards the screen. "Krycek, if you will?"

"Screen, display picture attachment from uploaded e-mail." Turning to look up at the screen, verifying its work, he smirked again. The words "Make my monster GROW" seem to practically jump from the display screen, followed by the rest of the advertisement.

"But the esteemed Professor Skeeter has not confined herself to mere slogans and bylines, indeed her longform -" Callisto, being a mature and responsible adult, did not snicker. "-advertisements are legendary." She then proceeded to read out an advertisement for 'wand enhancement' doing a fairly good impression of Skeeter.

Krycek nodded as she finished. "We share this information purely in the interest of fair play, to even the playing field," he explained. "Since we probably all feel that journalistic interest shouldn't necessarily extend to rummaging through students' lives in the name of authoring an article or two."

"Of course, we trust that you will all know to use this knowledge responsibly, just like Professor Skeeter has taught you to." Yes, that was a halo illuminating Callisto's head, being the shining beacon of innocence and purity she was.

Krycek motioned to a stack of papers on the desk. "You can pick up copies of the articles and the print ad here, and for archival purposes they have now been encrypted into the computer systems here in the journalism classroom."

"You can spend the rest of the class working on your final projects," Callisto said. "And be sure to have a good transmogrification-free day."

"He was a punk?" Funny how that's the part Zero picked up on.

"'Punk' being a negative term for a jerk, not a positive term for 'fan of good music' in this case," Peter said. "I guess I should have gone with 'schmuck' in this case."

"And technically, he somehow went on a rampage three times, but Iron Man captured him the first time. I have no clue how he kept getting his hands on the RHINO suit..."

"Yes, I don't particularly care for my people bein' used as a perjorative term."

Zero frowned at that. "Your law enforcement kinda sucks."

"I'll do my best to avoid that in the future," Peter said apologetically.

"Tell me about it. You don't want to know how many times I've caught this one guy. Herman Schultz, 'The Shocker.' Sad little schmuck, really. He somehow keeps getting out, though. The courts probably feel sorry for him because he sucks so much."

"That's a stupid reason to let someone who's actually done something wrong out of prison. It doesn't sound very...well, safe. Where you're from."

"He's harmless, really," Peter said. "He's actually gotten to the point where he just faints when I stop stop by one of his robberies. He's like my very own pet super-criminal. Passing out is his best trick."

Zero giggled. "So that works out well..." She listened to Cal for a moment. "Wow. Skeeter's kind of wacky, huh?"

"Just a bit," Peter said. "She apparently hasn't done this stuff yet according to her own personal timeline, so it's funny to see what we drove her to."
