Eleanor didn't really grow up with a lot of television or movies, mostly just exposed to them on occasion for special viewing days at St. Brigid's, and, even then, those were movies approved by the school, which weren't...

Well, let's just say it wasn't surprising that Eleanor had never really developed much of an interest in film and television. So this felt very new and different and she was definitely intrigued, especially in the bits of popular culture that were completely unfamiliar to her. Even without considering the time gap, her exposure to such things was still pretty limited.
