Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday [all day]

Today the park was set up with a stage in the center of it, which should have been everyone's first warning. There was also a small herd? committee? congress? of gremlins--looking surly--standing on that stage. There was also some slightly repetitive background music to let you know what sort of fiendishness Anakin had in store today.

"Hello!" he boomed through the megaphone from...nowhere near the stage. Because Skywalkers and gremlins don't mix. "Today is everyone's favorite--" debatable, "--summer game: Gremlin Fashion Show! Today, inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, you will be recreating iconic Eurovision stage looks for our lovely models."

One of the gremlins snapped their teeth at him.

"...right," Anakin said, taking another step away from the stage. "You will be working in five teams of four. You have been given inspiration photographs and all the ~~handwavy~~ supplies you will need at each table. I suggest splitting into costume creators and gremlin wranglers, but that division of labor is entirely up to you. You will not, unfortunately, be getting your own shirts this week, but feel free to use the costume inspiration to make your own visual representations of team unity."

There was zero chance of that happening, Anakin. " Listen for your names!" he yelled, trailing off as Beaker, in full sexy milkmaid attire, rolled along the grass in a hamster ball that tipped over and caught fire. "I'll just go deal with that," he added.

Good news, there's no shirts! Bad news, you are wrangling multiple gremlins into tight costumes!

You are creating costumes for four gremlins and need to get one of them to hold an accordion. Good luck with that. At some point, your table will start playing Verka's song and nothing you can do will stop it.

You are creating five costumes including two yellow wolf heads! At some point, your table will start playing Subwoolfer's Eurovision entry and nothing you can do will stop it.

Well, hopefully you have enough tin foil because you are making some boots. And enjoy the endless repetition of "Waterloo" coming from your table. There's no way to stop it.

One lime green bolero and some leather pants coming up! And stuck onto a gremlin and his four hot pink backup dancers.

At least "Cha Cha Cha" is hopelessly catchy? Because you're going to hear it for as long as it takes to make those costumes.

Three skin-tight shiny outfits to put onto gremlins, coming up! Hopefully! If you can concentrate after repeated exposure to "Blood and Glitter".

Are you so happy you could die? Or are you just gremlin bit?

"There is something deeply broken inside that man," Steve muttered, getting a closer look at the costumes they were supposed to be making.

"Right," Steve said, trotting down from the stands. "This seems...insane."

Gojyo had been out walking, not going anywhere really in particular. So when he saw something going on at the park, he made a small detour to check it out.

"Well this looks... interesting..." he said as he gave a shrug and took a seat to watch and see what all of this was about.

"...oh, no," said Libby, who, although she looked amused and somewhat fascinated by all this, was also smart, and therefor knew that this was going to be....an experience.

"That's too much pink for anyone to be wearing," Vi said, holding a bolt of fabric that was only a few shades off her own hair.

Prompto hated to admit it (okay, no, he would very openly admit it, actually), but one of the benefits of doing recon work for Summer at the park was finally getting an excuse to bundle up his daughter like a chocobo in public instead of just at home for thousands upon millions of pictures.

The stage got him pretty excited, too, because if there was some kind of ridiculous performance, Noctra was going to love getting to boggle at it and all the colors and inevitable glitter, but he was definitely having doubts now that gremlins were involved.

Well, if anything, it would be good for her to start getting exposed to these things now so she's better aware of them when she started to think more for herself.

"I can see why no one was willing to show their face for this," Aphra said once the song started playing.

Amaya was bristling a little, sending withering glances across the way at Rosa. Let's go to the Wednesday activity, she said. It'll be fun, she said. My team will totally kick your team's ass, she said.

Far be it from Amaya to turn down a challenge.

But, of course, it would be the one with the gremlins.

Listen, Beta had just been trying to take a walk through the park (because Zo's concerns about her literally never getting outside enough were entirely founded) and had no intention of getting involved in this nonsense, except she heard her name called and. Uh. Dean Skywalker terrified her a little bit.

So she was basically standing there frozen to the spot, eyes darting nervously from place to place and telling herself she'd made a grievous tactical error.

"Stupid," she muttered to herself, "deciding to come this way on a Wednesday. Stupid, stupid..."

Oh no, were any of these gremlins her store regulars?

Steph was busy scanning the... herd? Maybe a collective of gremlins should be called a hallucination. Anyway, none of them seemed to be the gamer gremlins but she couldn't entirely be sure.

Man. Ordinarily I love signing up for this shit, ridiculous as it gets, but I miiiiiiiiight be regretting my choices a little bit today.

Charlie laughed delightedly. "Oh, this is not going to go well!"

"This is terrifying on multiple levels," Steph said, poking cautiously at the gremlin-sized accordion.

"I would have rather had the shirts," Stark said as he shook his head sadly.

"Are any of you immune to gremlin bites?"

"This, oh boy, those gremlins do not look like they want to be wearing skin tight suits," Charlie said with a grin.

"I am absolutely, definitely not!" Graham declared.

Weirdly proud for having that actual knowledge, too.

"Where he gets the props, for one," Steve said, nodding.

"Please try not to get bitten," Stark said, giving Graham a bit of side-eye.

"I don't know if I am, they don't seem interested in biting me, but if you know you aren't you ought to try to keep your distance. Unless you have very thick gloves?"

Arthur was admittedly curious about these things, and so was John, so what harm could it do to drop by?

"Wait, what?"

What the fuck, Arthur?

"I didn't sign up for this!"

Oh, well. Too late now.

"What on Earth is this?" Arthur asked plaintively, like the great-grandpa-aged guy he was.

You can't even see the outfits. What the fuck?

"Maybe we just need to convince them?" Libby suggested hopefully. "That's probably way easier than wrangling them into them, although I do have a lot of experience squeezing clothes onto squirming Littles....they're usually a lot less bitey, though!"

Cutter wasn’t sure if it was just because he was really tired but he blinked a little at that, “gremlin bites?”

He had somehow managed to avoid hearing about that.

"Much less bitey," Charlie agreed, "And far less likely to make you believe you're something else for a period of time."

"They bite," Stark said, nodding towards the gremlins. "And if they do you'll forget yourself and think you're someone else entirely. Don't get bitten."

"I'm not going to be good at this one," Rey warned.

When you needed fashion, naturally you went to Rey.

"It's...interesting?" Belle said, trying to be diplomatic.

"Have you any idea how to make wolf heads?"

Jo had never been good at making things, especially darning and mending so she was looking a little lost and rather confused at the gremlins.

Look, when you were blind and being disoriented by really weird "music", it was easy to get in a gremlin's way.

So the gremlins ended up Arthur's backup singers.

The part where they lifted him onto their shoulders was especially moving!

Beaker was there, waving a lighter. Who gave Beaker a lighter? Should he have one? Absolutely not.

Arthur, what the fuck are you doing? There's a - watch out for the fire, damn it!

Sorry, John, Arthur couldn't hear you right now.

"Meep meep mee!"

And now Beaker was on fire. Again.

Guillermo was looking a lot more excited about this than what he actually should be as he made his way down.
