Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Even if a new term wasn't starting soon, today would be the perfect day for a picnic. The weather was calm and warm, the food table was full, and there was a respectable amount of glitter on the decorations. There might have been a bigger party going on somewhere else, but here it was time to celebrate the start of summer!

Kurt grinned and returned the handshake, and sorry for the slight awkwardness there, Eleanor... Three fingers were a little hard to meld with five easily.
"Nice to meet you, Eleanor. Have you had a good time here on the island so far?"

"Well," she said, "I've only just gotten here, but it's been nice so far."
No one throwing rocks. No need to push anyone down stairs.
And there were a lot of those.
Her eyes drifted a little bit, all around her.
"It's a beautiful island," she said, "and the school's really a castle, isn't it? Kind of an upgrade from my last boarding school."
In a few ways, really.
How different would things be, if she'd have gone here first, instead of St. Brigid's?

"Ah, I remember the bus ride from the airport when I first started," Kurt said with a small, fond smile. "It's a really nice place here. Most people are really really nice. I mean, back home, I was getting things thrown at me, chased out of town, and having angry mobs after me. But, here.... it's been almost perfect really."

...until, all of a sudden, she did.
But she was trying not to focus on that right now, especially since, well...apparently, she'd found herself perfectly placed in a school for other freaks.
"Almost perfect?" she asked, that sympathetic smile gaining maybe a little bit of an amused edge.

"I don't..." Eleanor started, then hesitated, then tried again, "I don't really mind were-creatures...."
She bit her lip a little, considering Kurt very, very carefully, but she was talking to a fuzzy blue boy with a tail. She hadn't had a good track record lately with knowing who to trust, though, so maybe she shouldn't mention it to one of the first people she talked to right out the gate?
"Things can get a little strange where I'm from, too."
