Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Even if a new term wasn't starting soon, today would be the perfect day for a picnic. The weather was calm and warm, the food table was full, and there was a respectable amount of glitter on the decorations. There might have been a bigger party going on somewhere else, but here it was time to celebrate the start of summer!

Summer....may have been keeping an eye out for someone in particular, and, look at that, there she was.

"Lana," she said, coming up to her and looking a bit like death warmed over, "I'm super hungover and need some Force healing."

A second later, she added, "Please."

Lana laughed and reached for her. "Any reason the rest of us should be concerned?" she asked as she began the healing.

"No," Summer assured her, closing her eyes with grateful relief and giving herself over to whatever Lana needed to do to make it happen. "Just your standard balls-to-the-wall partying for a holiday that means more to white girls wanting to get drunk than the culture it comes from."

There was a brief, contented smile.

"Totally worth it."

"That is the important part," Lana said. She hovered her hands around Summer's head for a bit before sweeping them down to take care of the rest. "Which culture does it come from?"

"Mexican," Summer offered, melting a little as she already felt much better. Anything would be better, really. "It was Cinco de Mayo, the Fifth of May, commemorating some old battle where the Mexicans beat the snot out of the French. And I'm a Sanchez on my mother's side, so it...might be my heritage."

"Ah, a military holiday is at least one I understand," Lana said. "And they do often seem to come with drinking. Too many soldiers let loose at the end of things, I suppose."

She finished and pulled back. "There you go, that should be better."
