Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2023, Early Saturday Evening

So, the last week had been a little... well, not exponentially crazy compared to Fandom standards, but definitely one for the books. Thankfully, everything was back to local-levels-of-normal just in time for a celebration. The tradition of holding the graduation ceremony at dusk meant there was plenty of time to clean up the front lawn of the school and remove any traces of animal debris. Twinkly blue and gold lights lined the paths and outer edges of the ceremony space, and there were chairs set up for all of the graduates, along with plenty of seats for guests to come and watch. Finally, it was time to say goodbye to this year's graduating class.

Congratulations, Class of 2023! You made it!

Despite the lack of evidence from the squirrels, Graham had, in fact, spent most of the last few days rampaging through the preserve as a sort of werecapybara, with a regular capybara traipsing after him and trying to keep him out of trouble (which did, of course, lead to quite a few instances of said regular capybara knocking him out for his own good). So, needless to say, he was feeling pretty pleased that the whole thing seemed to have resolved itself in the meantime, and just in time so that he and his truly trusty steed could make it to the graduation ceremony today!

He brought popcorn and everything, and was really excited to cheer on all his friends!

So it turned out while Goose had been a mongoose, he had ended up finding his interceptor and had eaten his way through the wiring and the ship was definitely not going to make it back home.

It turned out that he actually had a few more days than he had planned so that was something at least, even though he was not looking forward to fixing his ship or hearing from his dad when he explained that he had damaged another ship.

Well, the nice thing about hoping to find Goose at any given even was that....well, it was Goose, he didn't exactly blend in with a crowd! And though the last few weeks had been a little wild, the last few days especially, Summer was not about to forget that they had, kind of sort of, vague plans before he was sent off back to his dumb space military career to deal with aptly named government officials and send more ships careening back to the scrapyards.

"Soooooo," she said, beaming as she plopped down into a seat next to him and grinned. "Bar hopping after this, riiiight?"

After the last few days, she was going whether or not she was dragging Goose along with her, but she liked to think that no dragging would be required.

At the appropriate moment, there was Pomp and Circumstance, because even this place followed some normal traditions. It was time for the soon-to-be-graduates to make the last adjustments to their blue and gold robes, and get to walking to their seats!

Oh good. Belle wasn't paired with Tahani who was so very tall and who would probably complain that they were wearing the same thing even though all of the graduates were wearing the same thing on purpose.

At least Alexis wasn't as tall.

In an opposition to another graduates thoughts on the matter, Sakaki couldn't actually be more relieved to be paired up with someone taller than she was, even if only by a little bit, to maybe be able to cling to a little bit more of how she wasn't the freakishly tall one in any given room here in the states before spending her summer back in Japan.

Once the speeches were over, Zoe came back up to the podium, and called each graduate's name to give them their diploma.

As the last diploma was handed out and everyone returned to their seats, there was a swishing sound as a portal opened up on the stage. From the portal, a strange band of people emerged, bearing staves and epic amounts of resting bitch face. The last guest through the portal was a buff, shirtless elf, who took to the center to address the audience.

"People of Fandom! My name is Archdruid Lathorius, and we are the Druids for the Ethical and Humane Treatment of Animals. Word of your crimes has reached our ears! For days, you senselessly assaulted the wildlife of this place, some of whom were your own people merely in new forms!" He looked a little personally insulted by that for some reason. "You have upset the course of nature, and for that we must--"

Whatever vague threat was about to come next was cut off as he got smacked in the face by a falling shrimp. He gazed up as the sky opened, and a rain of shrimp began to fall upon everyone gathered.

"What the [microphone feedback] is wrong with this place?"

Audience! [Grad 23]

There's weird new people! Also you're in shrimp rain! What is actually wrong with this place?

They look a little distracted by the shrimp, and the "It's just part of the setup checklist at this point" box of weapons is under the podium, if you've got one last fight in you.
