"Continuing our trend of exploring various mounts used around Hyrule," Sidon said, grinning at the class from the front of the classroom, "we will soon be traveling back to Hyrule, and specifically, to the Gerudo Desert, where we will be learning all about sand seals!"

He gestured, somewhat proudly, the the globby shape with tusks and a tail on the board that was Sidon's best attempts to draw one such sand seal.

"Native to the Gerudo Desert," he continued, "the sand seal resembles quite a bit the creature on Earth known as a walrus, and are particularly well known for their fierce and mighty tusks and they're ability to move through the shifting sands of the deserts as easily as a Zora might move through the waters of Lake Hylia!

"Now, some have learned how to ride the sand seals themselves, but the most popular way of utilizing their speed and swiftness for effective desert traveling is something known as shield surfing, where you tether the seal and, with your feet on an overturned shield, ride the sand waves with the seal pulling you along! The Gerudo have made quite the business out of it, domesticating sand seals to rent to tourists and travelers, even offering up sand seal training and racing! In a moment, our portal will be here to take us to just outside of Gerudo Town, where a sand seal trainer has graciously offered to give you a lesson in sand seal handling, and then give you the opportunity to race them! So get read for a nice quick trip to a very warm, dry place, and to get to see these sand seals up close and personal!"

There's not a lot to it before the portal arrives, and once they pass through, they'll find themselves just outside the main entrance into Gerudo Town, although the town itself is of little interest for their purposes today, and, besides, Vi would be the only one allowed to go in, anyway! But there, flanked by a bunch of barking sand seals that scoot along the sand when they're not dropping and rolling around blissfully in it, is Frelly, whose family has worked with sand seals for generations, and she'll give you a quick lesson on how to rein up your sand seal, mount a shield, and ride them through the sand!

Now that you've had your instructions and asked any questions you may have had, it's time to give it a go with the sand seals! Take some time to practice shield surfing with your sand seal pulling you along, or, if you really feel up to it, you can engage in a few sand seal races, either with each other or a few Gerudo racers willing to give you a good challenge.

You can also just hang out and get to know your sand seal better, too! That is an absolutely valid option, as well!

Sidon is more than willing to leave the class in Frelly's capable hands on this one! He is not at all designed to withstand the dry, arid heat of the Gerudo Desert, so the fact that he'd willing to put up with it for the class is a true testament to his commitment to learning. He is well-equipped with plenty of heat-resistant potions, though, and will be standing in whatever shade he can find, underneath an umbrella that was definitely meant for some kind of patio table, frequently spritzing himself with water to avoid getting too dried out in this heat, while a lot of the Gerudo have actually been casually trying to get a peek at him, because a lot of them have never even seen a Zora before.

But if the students enjoy themselves and the sand seals, it'll make it all entirely worth it! And then he would go soak in a nice tank for the rest of the day to recover.
