"Hey, guys," Prompto greeted the class from the front of the classroom again, lounging on the top of the desk at the front of the room until they arrived. "Welcome back. Today, we're going to be talking a little bit about landscape photography, which, you know, is pretty self-explanatory in the name, but it's basically the art of taking pictures of nature and the great outdoors! I wanted to save this lesson for the week before the school trip, but if I'm reading the school calendar right, that's the week after next, and there's a pretty good chance I'm not going to be able to make it class next week."

And why was that, Prompto? Oh, let him tell you, with a big grin blossoming on his face.

"My daughter's due to be born next week," he beamed, "so, lucky you guys, you get two weeks off in a row. Which also means, plenty of opportunities to get in some good landscape photos, both here on the island and wherever you guys end up going. I'm not going to be able to go, because I'm going to have newborn on my hands, so I'm depending on you guys," oh no, "to get some really good shots to show me how nice it was, yeah?

"But before we get into that," he continued, hopping off the desk and bouncing over to the projector, "let's see how you guys did on your assignment from last week, and then we'll start talking landscapes! Who wants to go first?"

So how'd you do on getting some portraits and did they all end up being animals even if Prompto expressly said not to let them all be animals?

(He definitely won't be complaining, however, if they were all animals).

Going too far back into his old photos was a little too much for Prompto, so as he explains landscape photography and offers all sorts of tips and suggestions, most of the examples he has are from the island or pretty much a ton of shots of the Bahamas from his honeymoon. There are a few he's snapped here and there while out on the mainland for some of his freelance work recently, but the guy doesn't get out too much anymore.

In addition to the examples and the advice, he was also going to cover in good detail different kinds of lenses that would be helpful with the cameras they had, how to use a tripod, and a little extra time spent on using natural light to your advantage, among other useful techniques.

"And, clearly," he offered with a little bit of a smile, "there's not a whole lot of landscape to practice on in here, and we could probably hike over to the DS to get some sweet vistas, but that's still not quite the same. So let me just open it up to questions if you have any, or if you want me to go over anything, and, if not, then I'll just let you guys go and I'll see you in three weeks, hopefully with lots of cool landscape shots from your school trip."

He's there! And he's definitely psyched himself up a little bit with the reminder of why his class was getting a nice little extended break. Talk about good timing, right, guys?
