The Hylian Bestiary; Thursday, Third Period [01/05].
"Good morning, everyone!" Sidon beamed down at the class once everyone was there and gathered in the classroom and ready to begin with this exciting new class. Most of the students' attention would be, no doubt, on the looming figure of the Zora Prince before them, as well as on his undeniable energy and charisma, but a keen-eyed (or, really, just a mildly attentative) person might notice there were a few large shapes behind the desk at the front of the room, with large heavy cloths thrown over them, underneath which they might here soft clucking, scratching, or rustling sounds.
And the occasional clucking or cawing that definitely gave the gig up, but Sidon was clearly ignoring that for now.
"And welcome to the Hylian Bestiary, a class where we will join together on a magnificent journey through all the fascinating and thrilling creatures of my very own homeworld, Hyrule! I may be a bit biased, of course," here, he stopped for a small chuckle, "but I believe whole-heartedly you will find these beasts to be sometimes frightening, sometimes inspiring, even sometimes adorable or awesome, but I do hope you never find them boring or uninteresting!"
"Since it is the first class, I would very much like to get into introductions before we get into this week's featured creature, so if you would be so kind as to indulge me for a moment by letting everyone know who you are and what your interest in the fantastic beasts of Hyrule might be, I would very much appreciate it! And then? Onto--"
Behind the desk, something let out an almost rooster-like call and Sidon chuckled.
"And then," he said, a slight bit more sheepishly, "onto introducing our animals of the day! If you couldn't tell, they are clearly quite eager to meet you! I hope you're eager to meet them, but, first! I shall introduce myself! I am Sidon!" And, of course, here, he flashed the class his best grin, catching perfectly in the light so that it glinted slightly at the end of his fangs, while he swung a fist across his chest. "The Zora Prince! I have been a student here at Fandom High, as well as a teacher now for quite some time, and I do enjoy telling stories of my homeworld and learning all about others! And meeting new people, although some of your faces are quite familiar!"
A fact that left him absolutely delighted.
"And who would like to go next? And then we can move on to our guests!"

Class Activity: Introductions! - Hylian Bestiary, 01/05.
Class Activity: Cuccos! - Hylian Bestiary, 01/05.
Here, he dramatically pulled back the cover on the cages holding today's lesson.
"The mighty cucco!"
The round, squat, chicken-like birds in the cage let out a very anticlimactic cluck or two and continued preening at their wings with their beaks.
"Now," Sidon chuckled faintly, "a cucco may seem rather docile and innocent, and they usually are, when left to their own devices, but it is known that if one pesters a cucco too much, they will deeply regret it, as they actually have the capacity to be fierce and ruthless attackers, especially as they are known to flock and swarm mercilessly when one of their own is being threatened! And though they are quite small, they are also quite powerful, some of them with the capability to fly short distances while carrying a weight as heavy as a small Hylian! Though I imagine," he chuckled yet again, "it would take quite the flock indeed if they were to attempt to air-lift one such as myself!
"They consume a diet mostly of insects, worms, grasses and grains, and are mostly kept for their healthy, delicious, and nutritious eggs, though they are also quite popular as pets! They actually bear a striking resemblance, especially in this regard, to the Earth creature known as a chicken, but no look into the beast of Hyrule would be complete without a consideration for our feathered friends! So let's all take a moment, come meet these clucking compatriots, and get to know them a little better! Though I do ask that you not upset them, lest we be dealing with a cucco swarm of our very own!"
With that, he opened the cage to let the cuccos out, though, for the most part, at the moment, most of them seemed completely content right where they were, save for a few brave souls that tentatively emerged, pecking at the desk and hoping to find some food.
There was, of course, some feed on hand if the students wanted to offer some to the birds as they came to see them, and Sidon was ready to answer any questions they might have about the animals, which, of course, could be quite modded, indeed!
