All About Tea, Wednesday

"Right. Um. So, I." Jon paused, drew himself up, and started again. "This was not my intended course," there was a lot of that going about, "but apparently the moose decided it was needed and I'm English. So we're going to be learning about tea this semester."

He lifted a drink holder from the Perk. "We'll start with tea. It should be warm and brewed properly," unlike anything he would have made, "so there's a cup for everybody, and there's milk and oatmilk and sugar and sweetener, whichever you prefer.

"Please take a cup, introduce yourself, tell us how you take your tea and doctor it accordingly, and then we can discuss what you already know about tea and what you'd like to learn."

Hopefully they weren't all just here for an easy course.

Well, the tea was coming from the Perk and not England, which already made it slightly dodgy in Tahani's opinion. "Might we bring our own from home?" she asked, giving the oatmilk a dubious look. "I don't want to accidentally pour liquid porridge into mine."

Sakaki mostly just took the cup as is, because she was sure it was fine, no need to make a fuss about it.

"Hello," she greeted, tea now in hand and held closely. "I'm Sakaki. I'm...not very picky about my tea, but I am from Japan, so we do drink a lot of it."

And her cheeks went just a touch pink, after that, when thinking she should definitely not mention that most of what she really knew about preparing tea came from pretending to have tea parties with all her stuffed animals.

"Er...if you like," Jon said, shrugging. "We'll probably be making tea in class other weeks. This one is the regular milk," he said, shifting it forward. "If you use it."

It was okay, Sakaki; that was probably still more than Jon knew.

"I, um. I'm curious if you drink more green tea than black, though," Jon said. "I'm mostly used to black."

Jo didn’t drink a lot of tea but she was British so she did prefer it over coffee, so she was fine with adding milk and a generous amount of sugar to her tea, “I’m Josephine Jones, Jo,” she added with a smile, “I don’t really know a lot about tea,” she admitted, “I just like to drink it,” she added sheepishly.

"I'm Belle," Belle said, adding sugar to her tea. "I usually take sugar in my tea. Sometimes a bit of milk."
