Interpretive Dance- Monday- 4th period

Kitty showed up like right at the start of class, looking a little annoyed, and trying to tamp down on that. Blame the moose.

"Hey, guys. If you haven't had me before, my name is Kitty Pryde-Barton and I don't really care what you call me. I grew up dancing and have taught different styles here before, which is what I thought I was going to be doing this time. Instead I guess we're doing interpretive dance, in which it's less about riding choreography and more about... well, interpreting stories and feelings. There's some skill involved, but it's more about telling a story and getting emotions across. Acting with your body.

"So I'm going to have you help me push the desks out of the way here, and then after some introductions, I'm just going to have you dance it out today."

Graham? Was looking way too excited about all this. He could not push those desks put of the way fast enough!

And then? Introduction time!

"Hi, everyone!" he said, waving a hand in the air. "I'm Graham, and I love dancing! At least, I think I do! I haven't done a whole lot of it, but I do always have a skip in my step and a song in my heart, so that has to count for something, right? Oooh, and I looooove telling stories, so I'm really excited to find out what sort of stories I can tell through the magic of..."

Dramatic pause.....

"Dance!"

And cue jazz hands! Yeah!

"I'm Gray," said Gray, "and I...have danced before? I like dancing! It's fun! But it does make me sleepy." Because Gray. "I don't have any, like, formal training, though. Unless you count footwork for, you know." He gestured vaguely. "Fighting."

Very modest, Tahani, good job.

"I've done ballet, tap, and modern dance. Plus clubbing, but that's not really formal."

Kitty just turned on the radio, so it was probably something bouncy and autotuned. Mainly she just wanted to see how everyone moved when they could do anything.
