Intro to Fandom, Monday 12/12, First Period

"Well, everyone," Summer began, with a bit of a gesture of her hands as she looked over the classroom, "you finally did it. You're almost at the end of having completed a first semester here at Fandom High."

“It was a mostly quiet semester,” Stark said. He knew better and you could blame him later in the week when everything started going wrong. “But this place is a lot to take in and a lot to deal with. Making it through your first few months is still very good. I hope we helped, at least a little. Maybe you weren’t too surprised when every building turned edible this morning.” He paused. “Please don’t eat the buildings.”

"What we thought we'd do today," Summer continued with a nod, "is let you guys put together what you think was helpful or useful, either from this class or from your own experiences outside of it, that you'd want to impart to an incoming student. If you'd like, you can even make a little list or guidebook for an incoming student with the next semester, as a way to share your knowledge and wisdom and help make someone else's transition into this place a little easier."

"Maybe your guides will come in useful for the new students that come in," Stark said. "Or for someone else who might try to teach a course like this." Or maybe these two would try it again in the future. Who could say. "We're here if you need help, of course."

"Otherwise," Summer said, "we'll leave you to it and have a look at your progress as you go along, and, not gonna lie, it's a good way for us to see what you took away from the class that you found particlarly helpful, too."

Summer was not eating the gingerbread walls, no, but they did have the thinking about gingerbread shot glasses.

"It iiiiis," Summer replied, glancing at the classroom walls, with a little uncertain lilt to it to offer a margin of error in case she just forgot about it one year. "In a way, it's kind of impressive, how there's still plenty of untapped weirdness in addition to all the expected bullshit, like those hats yesterday."

And, of course, That Which Shall Not Be Named...

"I'd like to think," Summer noted, "that if the island were to turn everything into gingerbread and it rained, it would also, like, turn the rain into...I don't know, gumdrops or something...

"But I could definitely see how the Santa hats could freak pit someone who wasn't used to or expecting them."

She was pretty sure endless hats had actually been one of the things that drove Barry to the brink of insanity before he finally learned the importance of just chilling the fuck out.

"Sugar snow could work very nicely with my plans for class tomorrow," Summer noted, with a grin that she hoped made Stark worry a little bit about what those plans might be.

....a little bit more worried than he no doubt already was, anyway.

But you know what would not at all help her plans, island???

Maybe because he was gross, actually?

"Oh, shit," said Summer, swiftly whipping out her phone to look something up, "that's great. I could call it, like, the Santa Claws cupcake or something."

Come on, Stark. Even with just the one eye, you should have seen that coming from a mile away.
somethingwithturquoise: (but i'm so cute right???)

"Too late now," Summer informed him brightly. "It's out there, in the ether, in my brainspace. Soon to be in my kitchen. No take-backsies."

"Other than physically manifesting it as an actual thing in the real world?" Summer asked, then scoffed.

"Probably not."

He just had to say it, didn't he?

At least this time, it just earned Stark a cool side-eye instead of inspiring in Summer an instant urge to abort mission.

"Oh," she said, "would you actually prefer crab, then?"

Good luck looking Stabby in the eye at the clinic later now, Stark!

"I do probably have some crab-shaped cookie cutters or molds," Summer allowed. "It's absurd the amount of different things I've managed to collect over the years, really..."

"Ooh," said Summer, "maybe we could make crab cookies for the Hanukkah party! It'll be funny, since crabs aren't usually kosher."

A pause.

"Or vegan."
somethingwithturquoise: (just so happy right now)

"Ooh!" Summer said again. "I can make the fried tequila shots that I made for Annie's bachelorette party! They were a big hit.

"And kosher means something meets all the dietary requirements of Jewish law. Do I know what those are? No. But I do know shellfish ain't it."
