Journalistic Integrity and Journalism 101/201 (April 21 - 3rd/7th periods)

Rita was totally not sleeping behind her desk.

Really.

The writing on the board read:

Please ensure that I have your interview information, and spend the rest of the period writing questions

But, you know, she's not really paying attention, so....

[PLEASE make sure I have your info by TOMORROW AT THE LATEST. For JI, and for 101/201

Also, if you want detention for tomorrow, please just try to wake her up. Makes it easy on all of us.]

Janet signed in. She looked around for Skeeter, and saw her sleeping behind her desk.

You know, she'd been waiting for a very good time to use that bag of glitter she'd come across *handwavey, omg!* somewhere or another. This was looking like a good time.

Janet waved at Barbossa while tossing glitter around. "What would it take to bribe you to keep this off the radio?" she asked in a whisper. Because of course, pirates that take bribes would never, ever break their word to anyone.

Barbossa thought about it.

"Bottle o' rum?"

He didn't think it was necessary to mention that he wasn't on the radio today. He wouldn't mention it.

Veronica would.

Sneaky pirate.

"Where do I have it delivered to?" she asked.

Poor Janet. She didn't know that class next week was probably going to be deeply unpleasant once Skeeter heard tonight's radio broadcast. Woe.

"Room 531, if ye please," he replied. "The pirats yesterday be cleanin' me out."

Janet sprinkled a very-soundly-she-hoped-sleeping Skeeter very, very liberally with glitter.

Because, you know, annoying an already irritable witch who didn't particularly like you very much? That was a smart thing to do.

And then she covered Skeeter's desk and everything on it with glitter. Lots of it. The whiteboard (or chalkboard, or whatever was up there for class notes) got a coating of glitter too. As well as every area that wasn't going to get a student covered in glitter unless they wanted to be.

After that, Janet sat down and quietly worked on her JI interview project.

Chloe quietly took a picture of Rita and her desk, because this is the sort of moment that needs to be captured for posterity.

Janet was kind of in love with Chloe for taking that picture.

Callisto didn't like Rita's snores. So she threw a glass of water at her.

Callisto, always happy to oblige, threw another glass.

Callisto may have smiled, because that had totally been her intention.

Peter signed in. He may have been muttering "spongecake" while doing so.

Anakin spent the class period working on his questions for the trip up to Connecticut.

It looked a lot like staring into space.

Peter tossed Anakin a note.

Can you smell any toilet cleanser? I think she's hungover.

[identity profile] emo-padawan.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Anakin choked back a snicker. I was thinking furniture polish, myself.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter thought for a moment before returning the note.

It does smell fairly lemony-fresh in here now that you mention it.

[identity profile] emo-padawan.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Anakin tapped his pen against his lips before scrawling:

Think I could get away with leaving her a thing of bleach as a going-away gift before I graduate? Or does that lead down the dark path of animal transformations?

...

Would it be worth it regardless?

Re: 101/201 - Talk, work, annoy Rita

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter barely managed not to laugh.

That's a transformation, but it's worth it. She gets bored fast enough that you'll be normal pretty quickly and there's no apparent long-term damage. You just feel a little odd for a couple hours afterwards.

So do it. And give her a shot glass, too.

[identity profile] emo-padawan.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Anakin bit his lip, then grinned.

Next week, then. Mine is an evil laugh.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter's response was simple.

Mwahahahaha.

Peter was so far on the ball that they had to change the word to Peterball. But that sounded way too dirty, so they changed it back to just ball.

The point is that he was already trying to turn the answers to the questions he asked on Wednesday into an article.

OOC: *hugs* Feel better! Er, any objections if Janet litters the classroom with glitter or something like that? It wouldn't wake Rita up (no time for detention tomorrow), but it might be fun anyway?

Re: OOC

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally fine by me! It'll be nice and WTFy for her when she wakes up. :)

Yay! Thank you! And you can have Rita get revenge some other way if you want, of course!

... I was out of the office for a while on a nice day and then I came back with an hour left before 5:00 and so that's the kind of thing I come up with under the circumstances.

"Peterball." Heh.
