"Right, we're about to head into the holidays on this planet, many of which revolve around the giving and receiving of gifts," Anakin said. "So today we're going to work on faking sincerity about receiving gifts we don't want."

He gestured to a pile of colorfully wrapped presents. "Open one and pretend to be thrilled! We'll judge you on your facial expressions."

Vi picked up a box at random, it wasn't like she was in the habit of getting gifts to begin with.

Well, clothing was good, right? Even if it had sleeves?

By this point, Vi expected clothing from Anakin to be weird. This was almost wearable compared to some of the shirts. "It's certainly unique."

"It's festive!"

Oh, Libby had years of experience singing the praises of even the most unidentifiable homemade gifts from her little siblings under her belt, so she was confident in her ability to accept whatever it was in the gift she'd picked out with the utmost grace and kindness.

Everyone could use a new calendar!

Oh, no.

Libby blinked a moment at the calendar in between her hands right now.

"Oh, wow," she said. "Just in time for the New Year, too! Hoe thoughtful!"

Actually? Now that she thought about it, she might actually have an idea for a gift for Zo now. Somehow, she felt Zo in particular would appreciate this entirely.

Charlie was good at looking thrilled with things she didn't like. She chose a box at random and started to open it.

But could she fake being thrilled with a nose flute?

A wacky musical instrument? Awesome!

"Hey, cool!" she said. "I wonder if I could play this at the same time as I play my guitar?"

"Only one way to find out," Anakin said. "Not in my classroom."

"Will do," Charlie said. "I'll try it - elsewhere - and let you know!"

Presents! After intense consideration, Gray ended up picking the box closest to him and started opening it.

Everyone can use another umbrella, right?

Gray had to take a moment to figure out what the heck this thing was, but once he'd found a label, he exclaimed, "Oh, boy, a...rain...hat thing! This'll be way more practical than a normal umbrella when I fall asleep outside during a storm!" Because it would happen.

Alara wasn’t overly familiar with unwrapping gifts since it wasn’t really a concept in Xelaya so she picked up a present cautiously, careful to not break it and began unwrapping it.

She couldn't break a box of emergency mustaches!
