History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | April 21, Periods 5&6

Numerous pens, paints, glitter, brushes and other bits and pieces are set out the front.

"Today kids, we'll be painting backdrops and decorations for prom. The theme is Lost Cities and I have a list for you to work from. There's pictures and other information in each backdrop's area."

Krycek snickered and took some of the paints from him to put them near at hand. "You made it back, I see."

Jake nodded solemnly and handed him a paintbrush. "There were some scary looks thrown my way, though."

"They're just jealous," Krycek told him, amused. "Anyway, how do we want to do this?"

Jake gave their alloted space a thoughtful look. "Paint a couple of nice big pyramids first, then paint them all shiny?"

"Sounds good." He picked up a brush and eyed the paint. "What color do we start with, o artistic one?"

Jake shrugged. "Something in the shade of sandy?"

Krycek shrugged as well and dipped his paint in to start. After a few minutes, he glanced around. "You know, it's kind of isolated here, with all these backdrops around."

"Hmm? I guess so." The tip of Jake's tongue stuck out as he focused deeply on making the pyramind just so.

And if he weren't already a bit distracted, that would have done it, right there. "Jake?"

Jake turned his head, puzzled. "What?"

Krycek reached out and grabbed the front of Jake's shirt, pulling him in for a kiss. It might have intentions of being fairly involved. That might also have been the hand holding the paintbrush covered in gold-brown paint.

Jake got a startled "mmmrf?" out before he got with the program. He dropped the paintbrush and reached up to curl his arm around Krycek's neck, pulling him in, while his mouth opened. There would probably be a lot of goldish brown things around before the end of class.

Krycek released Jake's shirt long enough to drop the brush and slip his arm behind Jake in return. He stepped closer, deepening the kiss and possibly kicking over a bucket of paint in the process. Not that he cared.

Making out was much more fun than painting pyramids, Jake decided. He responded enthusiastically. That bucket of paint? Might have been kicked and rolled further down.

Krycek groaned against Jake's mouth, so close that it was kind of difficult to draw a breath between exhaustive oral explorations. Fingernails dragged down Jake's back, hard enough to be felt easily through the thin cotton t-shirt.

And it was kind of slippery with all that paint, so it was only by luck that they didn't pull the backdrop down with them when Krycek fell back, after an unfortunate shift of balance into a slick glittery puddle.

Reaching out with his hand before it got squished under Krycek, Jake managed to support himself enough that he didn't bash Krycek's nose when he was dragged down with him. He looked down at Krycek and laughed. "You're orange."

Krycek grinned, feeling paint soak into the back of his shirt, and pulled Jake down for a slightly less serious kiss.

Breathless when he finally pulled back, he smirked. "You're not. We should fix that."

"Noooo..." Jake shook his head firmly, hand sliding a little in the brown paint. "Don't want to be orange. Very bad colour for me--don't you dare!"

So of course Krycek dared. With a sudden grin, he rolled up and over, pinning Jake on his back in another puddle. "More gold-metallic over here," Krycek said in amusement, paint dripping from his shirt to land on Jake's.

"I'm shiny," Jake said mournfully, though by the way he was really not struggling, he wasn't very upset.

Krycek laughed and Jake was the recipient of yet another kiss, this one somewhat gold-plated. "You are. It's a good look on you." They were both getting pretty well paint-covered by then.

WHAP! More paint, this time from Parker's brush, around Krycek and Jake's heads.

"What are you doing?" Parker shrieked. "You're completely ruining Hamunptra! God! If you have to do that, do it outside the Lost Cities!"

Jake and Krycek turned their heads to look at her.

"Oh. Hi Parker," Jake said, and waved a browny-gold hand in greeting. "Um."

"Um," Parker mocked him, flinging paint everywhere as she gestured, too incensed to notice. "STEP AWAY FROM THE WALL! God. NOW!"

Krycek crawled off Jake, got on his feet and pulled Jake with him. "It's not that bad."

Jake nodded vigorously. "Totally not. Look, brown! Pyramids are totally brown!"
