"Good afternoon," Hannibal greeted the class at Portalocity today. "Or rather, good evening, as we will be jumping a few hours into the future today. It wouldn't be the same during the day.

"Since this weekend is Halloween, I thought we might do something thematically appropriate." He handed each of them a ticket. "Knott's Scary Farm is supposed to be one of the better haunted experiences in the United States. And whether you find it scary or not, there should be plenty to do. Since we're already playing loose with time, I've arranged several hours for us."

The portal opened, and he waved them through. "Happy Halloween."

Libby really didn't have a whole lot of context for Halloween except that it was pagan and evil, so she was already going into this pretty lost, but intrigued. And she was going to try and not to get lost in the ways she usually did, as she just sort of wandered around and tried to take it all in and maybe find something that she'd imagine her parents would find at least less objectionable than the rest of it...
