It was hard to get work done in the library when accompanied by a cat. Particularly an adorable tuxedo cat who was determined to be in the way and cause trouble.
"You do this just to vex me, don't you?" Belle asked Five-the-cat. The cat just looked at her smugly before vanishing and reappearing on the top of a shelf.
"If you fall there's only yourself to blame," Belle told him. In answer the cat very deliberately knocked a book off the shelf.
"Oh, do come down from there. I don't want you dropping things on anyone's head if they come in to browse."
The cat flitted over to sprawl on the desk in response.
