Mechanics of Engineering - Wednesday, 1st Period

Much like last week Goose had been extremely distracted on the weekend and had not done any kind of lesson planning at all, which was not really a surprise to anyone really and so he had resorted to going over his old notes again and found one that he had done a couple of times before.

“So this week we’re going to be looking at Hooke’s Law and how that relates to mechanical engineering,” Goose explained, “in particular it is the theory of the strength of the spring and we’re going to look at whether or not a spring can be accurate for weighing objects,” he paused, “to test that theory today we’re going to be looking at making a Spring Scale,”

Guillermo found it a bit challenging trying to attach all the parts together but he did eventually figure out where everything went, he was also rather pleased when he tested his spring scale and found that he had been successful in building it.

Alara remembered this activity from the last time she had done it in class and while she did still break a couple of the springs, she did have more success in completing the activity this time round.
