“Good morning,” Goose began, “this week we’re going to be looking at our next simple machine for this class and we’re going to have a look at the wheel and axel,”

“The wheel and axel is a component for a simple machine that amplifies force and is designed to create a mechanical advantage,” he explained, “and it is believed that the first wheel was a potter’s wheel and that it was first invented in Ancient Greece around 3500 BC in Mesopotamia,”

“Mechanical Advantage,” he continued, “is the measure in which a machine multiples the force put into it,” and it was here that Goose did hand out some notes to go into more depth on mechanical advantage.

“For our practical this week we’re going to be making a cardboard rubber band car,”

It took Alara quite a few tries to finish build her car since she kept breaking her rubber bands but she did eventually finish building her car after a while.

Oh, this was definitely something Libby was going to try and remember for later, because this kind of project and lesson was something that Val would have absolutely loved.

She tried not to think about the fact that she probably wouldn't have much of a chance to actually get to teach it to Val some day, but it was still something she thought would be nice that really motivated her through figuring out the process and trying to do a good job with the rubber band car herself.
