Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

"Ah they focus more on training and such and how to use our powers and all. For normal academics, we go to a regular high school if there's one nearby that is friendly towards Mutants. The problem is... ummm... most aren't."

Oh boy was that an understatement!

"Most of the time it ends up in riots, protests, angry mob type of stuff..."

Charlie shook her head."I'm sorry to hear that. People can be so cruel to others they don't understand."

Kurt nodded slowly in agreement.

"Just makes places like this all the more special right?"

He gave Charlie a smile.

"I take it things are considered more normal back where you are from?"

"There are certainly people who know about us," Charlie agreed. "I mean, everyone's scared of the Aunties and Auntie Ruby occasionally likes to ride a broom around and terrorize people, but mostly no one is even aware of us. But it's a lot easier for us to pass as normal."
