Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

"Libby, Illyana, Summer, and Lady Ghanima," Lana said. "I am sorry you and Steven couldn't make it." She cocked her head at him. "I am interested in your explanation, but you do know you don't owe me one."

Yeah, considering that Marc only recognized one of those names, and even then as somebody Steven had barely interacted with, it'd been a good call not to go. "Yeah we gotta grab a coffee or something. Maybe less public."

Since the Perk could be fairly crowded at times.

Lana spread her hands. "I am at your disposal. You have my number whenever you'd like to meet. We can even bribe the squirrels, if you're concerned." This sounded like a lot more than just space-sickness.

"Maybe sometime this week depending on real life schedules?" Marc suggested. Nothing they had to narrow down right this second, just putting the concept out there that he and Steven didn't feel a need to put it off.

"That sounds lovely," Lana said. "I teach on Friday, but any other day is time is fine for me."

"Philosophy again?" Marc asked, which he knew thanks to Steven.

"Yes," Lana said. "I'm teaching what I know; it was that or Force lightning, and that's a very specialised topic."

Marc gave what passed for an amused smile, at least as far as his expressions ever went. "Dunno. Some of them could use the kick in the ass."

Kids? Adults? Maybe a bit of both.

"Probably," Lana said cheerfully. "It's just a shame Master Skywalker can't take this class. Though I'd take bets on how long until he shows up for it anyway to make certain I'm not corrupting the students."
