Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

"New student," Charlie said cheerfully, "Just got here this morning. So now you know another person. Charlie Gale, pleased to meet you. Truly."

Raiden chewed and swallowed his mouthful of cheeseburger before he replied, because sometimes he could have manners. "Raiden," he said. "Is me. I'm gonna run the pizza place in town!" He sounded really excited about this. "Nice to meet you, Charlie Gale."

"No!" She exclaimed. "Gorgeous and you're going to run the pizza place? I cannot be this lucky. I'm so glad I offered you a seat! I can tell this is going to be a beautiful friendship, Raiden."

Raiden was notoriously oblivious to this sort of thing, but he was starting to get the notion that this teenaged female human might be flirting with him. Bold little thing, if true.

"You should drop by sometime!" Raiden said. "I always need people to try out new recipes." Especially with only one brother around for the job.

Oh, she definitely was, but don't worry, even if he wasn't interested, she'd be happy to claim him for a friend and become a regular at his pizza place.

"I will absolutely drop by and try out new recipes," Charlie said with a grin. "That would be amazing. You may regret the invitation, though, so if you want to take it back I'll give you one chance. I can be A Lot. Or so the Aunties tell me."

Well, he was gay, so there was that, but he loved making new friends! And then feeding them!

"Bring it on," Raiden told her. "I have six brothers. I know from A Lot." Daman alone was more than most people should be called on to deal with on a regular basis, although...for very different reasons.

Charlie might be more of a Bellamy, come to think of it.

She laughed. "Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you. I can eat. And I have a tendency to get into trouble. Nothing bad, just... you know."
