Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

Okay, so, Summer was definitely hung over right now, but she had a duty to uphold as a School Assigned Friend and whathaveyou, so, despite watching to curl up in her bed with her cat and some bad movies and maybe the kinds of snacks she usually reserved for when she was high, she was looking around for new faces.

And she found one.

And her commentary on the matter definitely proved that she felt she'd found her gal.

"Okay, yeah," she stated, "you definitely look like a Raven."

Not to, you know, profile or anything.

She put on her best fighting-through-the-pain smile and held out a hand. "Hiiiiiii, I'm Summer."

"That is convenient because that is my name," Raven said with a smile. She took Summer's offered hand, then frowned slightly as she picked up on her hangover. "You are not entirely well. Would you allow me to heal you?"

Your pain, give it to her.

"Ohmygod," said Summer, immediately, "you're a healer? Yes, please."

Then she shook her head a little. Carefully.

"Sorry, my friend's world just kind totally imploded....figuratively, not literally, although it could have been a near thing....and she just came back, so last night, we made a whole thing of it, and let's just say there was a lot of drinking."

She wondered if she should point Annie out to Raven, or just assume she was smart enough to deduce that her friend was the other sunglass-clad woman clinging desperately to her coffee that morning.

"Also, hi. I'm your school-assigned teaching buddy, I'm supposed to help you out and show you the roped and leave you with a very good first impression, obviously."

Raven closed her eyes and focused on Summer's hangover symptoms, drawing them out of the other woman and into herself. Her head pounded and her stomach churned for a moment before she was able to dispel what she'd taken. She shook her head to clear the dizziness and smiled at Summer. "There, you should feel better now. And if your friend should require any healing or just someone to talk to, please let her know that I would be happy to help her as well."

She glanced around the picnic area, once again reminiscing about her time in Fandom in the past. "I am grateful for your assistance. I once attended this school, several years ago, but this is my first time here as a teacher."
