Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

"Yeah, it sucks, but I'm used to it," he said with a shrug. Considering the curse had been placed by the Creator, even the Aunties probably couldn't do anything about it, but it was nice of her.

"I have six brothers, but I never had a sister until I came here," Gray said. "This place is helpful like that, I guess."

((OOC: Hmm, I'm going to have to think about how that would go! Gray is highly magical but in a really different way, so I'm not sure if he would notice or not? The angel who's his effective boss would definitely notice when he went home.))

"All you can do, I guess," Charlie said sympathetically. The Aunties might just be willing to take on the Creator, but Charlie wouldn't want to be around to see how badly that turned out.

"And me with younger twin sisters and no brothers," she said. "It's perfect."

"It's wonderful. I think it's my heart home. My Aunties told me some about it before I came and I thought it sounded amazing, but it's even better than I dreamed!" She closed her eyes for a moment and just smiled.

Gray laughed at that. "Wow! I wouldn't go that far, but it is pretty great here. I think I was hoping for more of a..." he did finger quotes, "'normal high school experience' when I signed up for this place. And now I'm taking a class on being a superhero. Which is great, just in a different way, you know?"

Expectations. Reality.

"You look pretty heroic already," Charlie said. "I, on the other hand, am just thrilled to find out I won't be having a 'normal high school experience'. I'm going to straight up enjoy the lack of normal, I think."
