Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.

With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

"Your tradition or like, school culture tradition?" she asked.

"School? They could've been having me on, though." Not that he minded. Gray was comfortable being half-naked in public, since his choices generally were that, ruin his clothes with his wings, or dress like Daman.

Dressing like Daman was the least preferable option.

"I'm not mad at it," Allie admitted. She only planned on being here for a really short time but at least the view was pretty. "I'm Allie."

"Nice to meet you, Allie! Welcome to Fandom High! I hope it's not too much so far." Apparently for some people it was a lot.

"It's a lot," Allie admitted. "I didn't plan on being here and apparently that's a thing."

"I've heard that," Gray agreed. "Something something interdimensional nexus something. But hey, there are worse places to be?"

"Maybe," she said, considering it. It wasn't like the situation she'd left was great. "So what's good about it?"

"Have you met Triumph?" Gray asked, gesturing toward the giant capybara, because Triumph was awesome. "He's my roommate's. And the classes are really interesting. I'm told they're not like a normal school, but I wouldn't know. I've never been to a normal school."

Allie looked over... and okay, that was maybe the weirdest thing she'd seen so far. "Someone has a capybara as a pet?"

A giant capybara. "More like a noble steed. Graham wants to be a knight." This was very normal.

"Another person from a kingdom then. See, not even shocking to me anymore," Allie lied.

"I'm just from California," Gray said, half-laughing. "Seems boring in comparison."

Granted, two of his brothers would marry (dragon) princes, but he didn't know that yet.
