Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Despite the fact that this picnic was celebrating the new fall semester, it was still technically summer, and the weather was making that clear. It was sunny, with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was seasonably toasty.
With not a minute to spare, the food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
But her eyebrows shot up a little with surprise. "You really haven't seen my ship before?" she asked, because that just seemed kind of wild to her, she just sort of assumed, by default, that all of her friends would have, at some point, been dragged into that thing for one reason or another. "It is definitely not big enough for a dance floor, it's just a little guy, a small transport, mostly used for hauling people and cargo....or in my case, my cat and contraband. But I thought a disco ball would be a nice fun touch of flair, you know?"
Because the ship being bright pink itself clearly wasn't enough.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"I've seen the outside of it," he offered. "It could have been bigger on the inside." It was Fandom. These things happened.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"That's fair," said Summer, because she did run Turtle & Canary, which was, you know, a classic example. "And it is bigger than you'd think because of all the secret compartments, but, yeah, no, not dance floor big, although now I kind of wish it was..."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"Moya would have room, for dancing. We didn't do any dancing. But there would be room." Moya was huge. "I don't really dance, anyway."
He had, a few times. Not any time recently.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
Not her anytime soon, obviously, because even just moving her head enough to sip from her coffee made the whole world spin in ways it definitely should, but, you know, she did typically enjoy doing it.
"Does Travis dance?" she asked, in what was clearly a brilliant moment of inspirationnot at all clouded by a hangover brain. "Maye you two should go do that some time."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
It was one thing, he was sure, to be involved with an alien missing half his face on this island and another thing entirely to be doing so on the mainland.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
Summer would maintain that there were plenty, even without having to leave this planet, where something like Stark's mask would not even cause most people to bat an eye, or, if it did, it would be in intrigue and appreciation more than anything else.
And, obviously, it definitely wasn't an issue if they were talking about space nightclubs. Which, obviously, she also knew more than a few of.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"I could ask him if it's something he might like to do. Then go from there."
And possibly ask Summer where to go since he had no idea who else he might talk to about that sort of thing.
"Maybe he knows somewhere?"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
Having been in space for a week, she realized there could be updates that she'd missed, and, obviously, it was very important for her to be invested in literally all the relationships, but especially ones that she could convincing claim to have had at least some part in helping along.
SOME.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"Things are going well. I think." They were. "Monday morning was a little...awkward." That was thrown in there as a little treat. "But things are fine."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"Well, you know you can't tell me things were awkward without elaborating, Stark," said Summer with a pointed (and necessary) chug of her coffee.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
"Maybe I'm always awkward?" That was true. "I was leaving, to go to the clinic, only Eddie was already at work, at the fire station."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
Especially if leather was going to be involved.
"You are always awkward," Summer allowed, because, hey, don't drop it if you didn't want someone picking it up, okay? But then she squinted a little behind her sunglasses because she wasn't sure if she was following, or if she just wasn't following because she was hungover and didn't really follow a lot right now.
She took a sip of coffee, to see if that helped.
"Leaving....the fire? ....Ohhhh." Nope. Yup. There it was. She got it now, and she nodded.
"Nice."
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Fall 22]
And Stark could own his awkwardness.
"Travis was going to buy him donuts. I don't...I don't think he minded that he knew but it was...awkward." They hadn't been expecting to see anyone!
