Daniel is looking a bit overtired today, as he cradles his coffee protectively.

"Okay, non-kinship based social groups. We have age grades and age sets, gender based groups and groups based on common interests. Can you think why these form, and give me any examples?"

Kiki is here today, looking far better than she did on Monday, had anyone seen her then - and that was worlds better than how she'd looked all weekend.

"As the saying goes, 'You can't pick your family.' Sometimes, although blood tends to be thicker than water, you just don't have much in common with your kin, and its difficult to relate to them. You have to make a connection somewhere, so the most natural thing is to connect with someone that shares something in common with you."

Kawalsky may have stuck his head into the classroom on the way to collect prom tickets. He heard Daniel's question and whispered to anyone who was listening. "Hockey teams! They form because people get together to play and win!"
