"Yes, it was," Cara said, very pleased with herself, because she'd had a great weekend. "Now I'm sure some of you now have existential crises but you can deal with those later."

Jaskier nodded sagely at that. Disassociate on your own time, class. "But it leads us to thoughts of the future! And how a nice, relaxing retirement is the goal, however unlikely it may be."

"Very is the word you're looking for," Cara added.

"No, personally, I plan to find a very wealthy patron." Sugar mama or daddy. It was pretty simple. "But what, as an artist, do you plan to do?" he asked the class.

"Remember, selling out is a completely valid option."

Vi'd brought along Libby, because right now she did not trust her left to her own tiny, adorable devices.

Man, Steph could have given Vi so much shit about being a magnet for adorable animals that were normally people if, y'know, they were talking to each other. And she was in no way jealous of the tiny adorable lamb for getting to hang out with Vi, shut up.

Just ignore the long wistful looks she kept shooting at Vi for the entire duration of class, whenever she thought Vi wasn't looking.

Me and my dumb stubborn insistence on not ditching class. Why.

And because Vi was worried that Steph was going to be mad about her breaking into (did it really count as breaking in when she had a key?) the store this morning, she was mostly not looking at Steph, except for the occasional, quick sideways glance to try and gauge her mood.

Oh, the distinct fondness in Steph's expression over the lengths Vi was willing to go to just to make sure she wasn't forgetting to feed herself was the absolute opposite of mad.

But given that this still hadn't done much to dislodge the notion that Vi didn't want to be around her from her head, it would really just continue their current trend of incredibly poor takes if Vi ended up interpreting that in an entirely different way.

You mean like assuming that the fondness was directed at the tiny lamb who was bouncing around like she had springs for legs? What were the chances of that?

Right now, very high.

To be fair, Steph did actually think the bouncy little lamb was adorable but no, the fondness in her expression had a definite appreciative undertone of wanting to kiss someone senseless.

At least, to someone who was presently inclined to interpret it that way. So probably not Vi.

Any plans?

Who had some unique ideas of retirement.
