"Today," Yennefer told the class, "we have selected for you a film about relationships." By which she meant they had googled 'movies about relationships' shortly before class was due to start. "Hopefully it will prove educational."

"It certainly looks interesting," Jaskier added, trying to fiddle with the television to get it to play.

"For Melitele's sake, you just push the button on the thing." Very helpful, Yennefer. Oh, there it went. "Please enjoy."

Marc was certainly there. Though it probably said a lot that this seemed like a perfectly reasonable relationship movie to him.

Given the movie, Nell thought Hangman might be a more apt choice, so she drew the outline and seven little lines under it before handing over the paper and pen.

Marc smirked. He wrote an E and handed it back.

Nell returned it with __ __ __ E __ __ __.

And a smile.

Marc sent back an N as well as a Doing ok?

She looked over at him and nodded.

I'm good. A little nervous maybe. Going shopping with Lana this afternoon.

She made a circle for the head and wrote the N underneath the lines.

Two women shopping - hell, two anybody shopping was not really in Marc's interests. But Nell's general well being was so he wrote back Nervous? with a guess of an M.

She drew a line for the body and wrote the M down next to the N.

Clothes shopping isn't exactly high on the church list of approved things. And I'm buying some pants. Big loose ones, but they should be easier to practice in. And none of the ones I looked at are particularly plain.

Okay clothes shopping was definitely not in Marc's area of expertise. But he couldn't fault the logic. Makes sense. Better Lana than me. S

Nell really wanted to learn and felt a little ashamed that she was nervous about having a man put his hands on her, even one she mostly trusted, but she wasn't quite ready to try that yet.

Marc had a moment of idly wondering if his hangman self would come back from the dead too.

Sounds like we're on the same page. She'd also help practice when dealing with powers. U.

Marc had powers in the suit, but they were all effectively enhanced abilities. Not the same kind of thing to practice against as someone like Lana.

Nell shot him a look of horror.

Marc would've totally written something besides "people" if it wasn't for Nell.

Nell let out a sigh of relief. She should have known he wouldn't ask her to try that. She asks would be abused to know just how much he censored himself. She didn't have virgin ears.

No Y. Perhaps her word would have been better suited for Steven.

I'm hoping I never have to fight a vampire, but that does sound like a good idea.

There were a lot of words that were better suited for Steven. There was a reason that most people who met Marc and Steven called Steven the smart one. (Konshu being a very notable exception.)

Apparently some of them are nice? Go fig. K

The church doesn't think so, but I'm sure there must be. I'd still rather not fight one if I don't have to.

Marc was completely lost on what the word could be so figured might as well go random for a guess.

Two that live here are OK. Konshu doesn't care about them anyway. X

Not that Konshu's lack of caring was necessarily a ringing endorsement but it at least ruled out the worst of the worst.

Which he wouldn't in a couple of years but of course he had no way of knowing that.

I was going to give you hands and a face, but I was hopeful my word wasn't too difficult.

I'd offer you some of ours, but I've only ever heard about them. They're not exactly welcome at the church.

She smiled at him.

Which was a tiny bit of a joke, really. You know, all things considered.

Nell grinned. Not in the slightest. But maybe sometimes it's not about you, Marc. I might be hopeful all on my own.

She was. About many things. And she didn't mind teasing him back a little.

Marc wrote back. Definitely not me. Though I don't cheat.

After the word "cheat" there was an arrow drawn to point to where he'd guessed a U. Though the look on his face made it clear he was only joking and not actually bothered.

[Cue complete facepalming from the mun. How did I miss that?!]

Nell looked at in in horror then started to laugh.

I don't know how that happened! May I be forgiven since it's my first attempt?
