The pillows were once more set up in the classroom for that relaxed vibe. And this time, Jaskier was there! And not on a creativity bender somewhere, writing more epic breakup songs.

"Self worth," he proclaimed. "Is key to a relationship. Don't you think?"

"Yes, absolutely," Yennefer agreed from where she was lounging on her own pillows, looking as if all she needed was someone feeding her grapes. "If you don't appreciate your own self worth you might spend twenty years trailing on foot after a man on horseback." Yennefer. No.

"Rude," Jaskier replied, making a face. "He was a muse. I was being inspired."

"Oh, is that what you call it?" Yennefer drawled as she examined her nails. "You Oxenfurt types have the most interesting euphemisms." Right. Workshop. Audience. "The bard is..." oh it burned, "right, though. If you don't know your own worth, you'll put up with all sorts of nonsense you really oughtn't."

"Like someone who wished for your affections," he muttered. Focus on hating Geralt, you two! "Some people believe that we accept the love we believe that we deserve. As such, what love do you believe yourself deserving of?"

Did Yennefer flinch at the word 'wished?' Maybe. "And if you do not feel deserving of love, please do throw that sentiment straight out the window as not worthy of our time, thank you." She waved a hand airily. "Discuss, or whatever."

The light bickering between the teachers was one thing, but, at the crux of it was definitely something that had Sakaki taking a moment and looking down at her hands. They were healed up now, of course, but it certainly made her question if this constant feline abuse was something she deserved.

Clearly, it was something she didn't mind, but that wasn't the question now, was it?

She was probably going to sit there and think about that one for a good, long time.

Honestly at this point Marc was just appreciating the weekly update on relationship drama that he didn't personally have to worry about. It was like a free soap opera, in a way.

Nell wasn't certain that she deserved anything. Perhaps a general politeness and respect of her person and things?

Nonetheless, she was just going to sit here quietly for now and listen.

Marc waited until Nell happened to look in his direction, then motioned that he needed to borrow paper and a pen.

Could he have brought his own? Sure. But how was that fun?

Marc drew an empty tic tac toe square, then handed the pen and paper back.

Nell looked at the drawing, then looked at him, then looked at the drawing again. She considered it for another moment, then drew roses up the 'trellis' with a question mark on the side.

She stared at it again for a moment, shrugged, then passed it back.

Okay arguably he should've seen this one coming. Both in terms of Nell not knowing what it was, and in terms of what she did with it. She was plant girl after all.

He sent it back with a note. Thought you might be bored.

By the way. Do you keep totally kosher? Beyond bacon, I mean? No mixing meat and dairy?

She started to hand it back, hesitated, then decided she could wait to ask the next thing, and passed it over.

Marc was curious about why she was asking but didn't mind giving the answer.

Yes. No shellfish, no pork, no meat with dairy.

Marc didn't go so far as to require things like a fully kosher kitchen or butcher - hard to guarantee that when you were on the road a lot - but he assumed Nell was just trying to get the general idea so he sent the note back without getting into that.

Marc's answer wouldn't have been about what he felt he deserved (which would take far more therapy than he'd ever been exposed to to get him to say that out loud in this situation) but what he wanted. And since that wasn't what was being asked for either he again sat and drank his coffee without comment.

Ya know, ranging from being deserving of that death sentence to deserving a second chance he was hoping to get here in Fandom. Really depended on what you took into consideration when asking.

"That's a funny word, 'deserve,'" Yang mused. "I know a woman who thought she deserved power that she hadn't earned, so she made the world burn for it."

"I think everyone deserves what you'd call 'basic human rights,' though the word 'human' is very loaded in my world. It's used to deny the rights to lots of sentient people, just because they're different. Other than that?" Yang shrugged. "You reap what you sow."
