Totally Safe Science With Beaker!, Friday, June 17, 2022

Well, there wasn't a teacher in the front of the classroom currently, but there was a cardboard box machine with a bunch of important looking buttons on it it was meeping, so everything was probably fine.

After a few minutes the machine began to whir and smoke, slightly, and Beaker popped out of the side, meeping nervously.

He was followed by another Beaker.

And another Beaker.

And another Beaker.

And another Beaker.

Today's task, kids: fix the Multiplier!

Um. Quickly. There were now at least ten Beakers.

"Um," Gray said. "Are there supposed to be so...many?"

"I think," said Amaya, once she realized that Beakers were just on a roll here, "our first order of business should be containment."

It just seemed dangerous to let all those Beakers on the loose.

....it seemed dangerous to have so many Beakers in a contained space as well, actually.

"On second thought," she said, "let's just smash it."

That should help, right?

"How many Beakers till they just spontaneously combust, you think?"

Miguel should have brought popcorn.

"There is only one way to find out," Amaya mused.

"Think we should just set up some blast shields?"

And these were supposed to be the adults in the room.

Miguel shrugged. "The room's already got safety protocols. Think we need to?"

Hey, this was a valid scientific experiment!

"Are they all actually Beakers? Or are they just copies that look like Beaker?"

As in is there one fire prone Beaker and the rest are empty copies, or do they literally have over a dozen spontaneous combustions waiting to happen?

"Catch a couple and I'll test their DNA," Miguel offered.

"Okay," Gray said. "What if we put them all back in the thing?"

As far as I'm concerned today's class is titled "Meep us all, Spock!"
