Catching up on Pop Culture, 3rd period

Today there were computers all around. Jon waved at the students. "You've probably noticed a lot of what we're doing is on computers. That's because a lot of recent popular culture either happens on computers or is influenced by what happens there, on social media and so forth. But another aspect is that a lot of people use them for playing games.

"Some of these may be tiny things like Wordle and the like or Solitaire, others may be more involved, like Fortnite. Some have incredibly intricate stories, but we're not going into those here; just be aware of them."

He gestured at the computers. "So, today there are a number of games you can play. Enjoy and ask questions if you have them."

"Not that I have much room to talk" Billy admitted. "I used to be fond of shooter games when I was younger."

Funny how military experience and a zombie apocalypses could ruin your perspective on those kinds of games as being 'fun or relaxing'.

"I was never much into those," Jon said. "But I think that's what Fortnite is. From what I gather."

"This is one case where you would definitely know better than I" Billy said with a chuckle. "I never kept up with games all that much. Between that and the whole time jump thing, I have no clue what the newer games even are."

See? Like he had told you Jon, there's a lot to learn for your class.

"Well, Fortnite is fairly popular, I think," Jon said. "And a lot of mobile games, but there were too many of those to go through. Oh, and sudoku."
