Paintball!, Monday, June 6th, 2022

This week wasn't quite as miserably hot out for the class, so as a reward... it was teamwork time.

The set up was basically all the same, but this time there were what looked to be very large handcuffs to chain duos together. Because nothing said challenge quite like forced teamwork, right?

"Welcome back!" Tony said, definitely enjoying this plan more than he ought to. "We're switching some things up this week to make sure no one gets too complacent."

"You're going to work in pairs," Steve said, "and you'll be handcuffed together, so figure out which one of you shoots with which hand, or who's the better shot, and then lock your hands together."

"And if your partner goes down, they're now dead weight." Guys, no.

"It'll be fun!" Steve proclaimed overly optimistically. "Listen for your names and we'll give you some time to plan out your strategies:

"Then we're agreed?" Eliot asked. "I'll unlock the cuffs once the game starts and you can go . . . do your stonefaced Kady-esque thing without my lovely self slowing you down?"

"You would do all the shooty work for me, obviously. I try to reserve my action hero moments for things like kingly duels and the occasional killer master magician or god."

Why would anyone want to reserve action hero moments?

But Rosa considered this carefully and then, finally, nodded.

"Deal," she said. "Especially if I also get your gun."

What? They also didn't say that you were both out if one went down, just that they were dead weight. If he didn't want action movie moments, Rosa should get extra..

With extra guns.

"You know what?" said Rosa, now with two guns in hand and feeling very good about that. "Maybe this won't completely suck after all."

Which was very high praise, coming from her.

It would also prove to be false once the game actually started, apparently, but for now, you weren't actually half bad, Eliot.

Fandom would Find a Way, much like life did in that movie about the killer dinos.
