Choose Your Own Adventure: Tuesday, 3rd Period (5/31)

Today's background music: a playlist of tavern music just conveniently meta-ed, la la la. All the crafting materials were laid out for everyone's use again today, but so was a cooler of water and juice with a sign attached to it that read TAKE. DRINK. DEHYDRATION IS NOT AN OPTION.

Related to that last point, and perhaps somewhat unsettlingly, Steph was sitting on the edge of her table up front as usual, but she was in fact not wearing a beanie today, because it was too freaking hot for that so she was basically in outfit #2 here sans beanie.

"So," she said dramatically, clapping her hands together, once everyone was assembled. "In three weeks the monarch of this fair kingdom will be holding a festival and all of you are going to be in attendance. Why are you going? That's entirely up to you. Maybe you're looking for a chance to show off your skills for potential employers? Sneaking away from home to take in the sights of the city? Perhaps you're on some grand quest and merely stopping in to get supplies, or your armor repaired. Or could it be that you're a student accompanying your mentor, or a servant in a noble's retinue?"

She hopped down off the table and gestured to one person at random before making a sweeping motion to indicate everyone.

"And for that matter, how are you going to get there? On foot? Horseback? Carriage? Maybe you're part of some enterprising captain's crew? Stowing away in a traveling merchant's wagon? Who knows? Maybe you were carried there by the wind. It could happen."

Steph flashed them all a grin.

"So that's your assignment today, to figure that out. And ideally, some of you all will have met up at some point on the journey and will be arriving at the festival together. So talk to each other, and see what you all can come up with, okay? And as always, check in with me if you're still stuck and need help with anything."

Graham's hand immediately shot up with an idea and started waving around excitedly. "Ooh! Ooh!"

But he launched into it before he could really be called on, pretty much as soon as he had Steph's attention, grinning broadly. "Will there be some sort of tournament at this festival? A grand event to compete in, for riches, glory, and honor??"

"I was thinking of having my character going to seek an audience with the king or queen because he wants to ask about changes to laws and ask for help for his people" Kurt said. "If anyone wants to partner up for transportation or who also wants to see a royal audience I am open to ideas!"

"I think," said Libby, after a while of listening to other people bouncing off ideas and trying to think of something for herself, "my character might have accidentally just wandered into the festival while searching for herbs and other supplies."

She didn't know where it had come from, but all of a sudden, she had this spark of inspiration and rush of love for the thought that her healer was incredibly absent-minded and kind of spacey, because it seemed like it could be a fun way to play her.

“I think my character will be going to the festival because he has spent decades being away from humanity and news of the festival makes him want to be among humans but he has to be careful still and not draw attention to himself because of vampire hunters,” Guillermo decided, not realising how ironic all of this actually was.
