A Beginner's Guide to Mechanical Engineering - Tuesday, 1st Period

“Good morning,” Goose said as he started that week’s class, “since we looked at machine drawing last week, this week’s project is going to expand on that and we’re going to look at making a Rube Goldberg machine,” he explained and he began to cover what was involved in such a project and a bit of a history behind it.

“This project requires two steps so the first one is to design your Rube Goldberg machine and then we’ll build it,” he explained, “this project looks at the fundamentals of simple machines and it’s a good introduction to how they work and it’s a way make the process rather complicated so it can be any kind of project that you’d like to make,”

Work on your Rube Goldberg Machines, they can be any kind of project you'd like and there's the usual moddable range of supplies needed for your individual projects.

Alara decided to try and work on a project that would transport a ping pong ball, she still wasn’t very good at the drawing part of it the process but she did rather enjoy the building design even if she did have trouble connecting some pieces together as they kept breaking.

As someone who often used Rube Goldberg machines as finals for her own classes, Amaya definitely had ideas for this one.

Almost too many ideas.

A lot of those designs were looking more like several weeks of projects rather than just two lessons' worth.

But it was fine! She was an expert!

She was trying to keep her focus narrowed in, though, on something that might be able to successfully incorporate the lobsters.

Miguel could only think of anything useful for a Rube Goldberg machine to do for him - annoy Rosa in the way that she'd roll her eyes but secretly be impressed.

So it would have to end up throwing a knife or something.
