Stark, standing in the front of the home ec room, was looking much better this week and not at all like he might collapse at any moment from sheer exhaustion.

"Welcome back. I hope everyone is rested today. Feeling better than last time. Unless you weren’t sleepless last week. Then…I hope you're still fine?" He hadn't really thought that 'unless' through.

"We can actually bake today, I think. Without worrying we might burn the school down or have some sort of terrible baking accident."

"I thought we could try colors as a theme this time. Something different. Yellow, to start," he said, gesturing toward the box on the counter in front of him. "I've brought some yellow ingredients to make yellow cupcakes or at least cupcakes with yellow."

He opened the box then and started removing items one by one. "Lemons. Bananas. Pineapple. Something called yuzu. And…canned corn? I didn't bring that. Why would that be here? I don't want corn."

Summer was getting a suspicious look right about now if she was in the room even though this was entirely a strange island occurrence and nothing to do with her at all.

"There are recipes, if you like, and some already finished yellow cake cupcakes if you'd like to eat one or just make frosting for those."

Or just eat something from the back of the room? Be horrified at the corn?

Vi had actually apparently learnt enough in Steve and Tony's class to feel vaguely confident baking her own cupcakes. Even if a lot more pineapple was making its way into her mouth than the bowl.

Summer was definitely in the room and Stark was very correct to give her that look the moment canned corn entered the picture.

Her own look was anything but horrified. But to some, it might be horrifying.

"Should I be concerned?"

Foolish question, Stark.

Summer shrugged, but that grin wasn't going anywhere.

"I guess you'll have to wait and see."

Always exactly what someone wanted to hear in this situation, right?

But she hoped Stark would still be pleasantly surprised.

"You didn't add the corn to the box, did you?"

Look, he had to ask.

"I definitely did not," Summer promised, hand to her heart for added sincerity. "The cupcake odds were clearly in my favor, though."

Steph was going for the yuzu, because she might be in an adventurous mood (as always) but she was not trying the corn, thank you. Summer could keep that.

She was also going to polish off several of the premade cupcakes over the course of the class period.

The emperor clearly wanted him to be here, but it could hardly be for a class on baking cupcakes, which meant Kiem was intent on enjoying it, despite the result.

The result was at least reasonably edible, consisted of a lot of banana and there had been no accidental exchange of sugar for salt.

Jo had only ever made biscuits with Dr. Lecter’s help and had never made cupcakes before and it definitely showed in her attempt.

Her cupcakes were nothing more than yellow blobs, they may not be edible but she had at least tried to make the effort.

Forgot to write class last night so no recipe links. In my defense I was at work for 11 hours yesterday.
