A Beginner's Guide to Mechanical Engineering - Tuesday, 1st Period
“Good morning,” Goose said when class was ready to begin, he had not slept at all last night but he was used to going days without sleep so he’d already had a few cups of coffee and so he was at least alert and functioning for his class.
“I thought we’d start this week’s class with the introductions and then next week we can start focusing on mechanical engineering projects,” he explained.
“So I’m Shane Gooseman, most people call me Goose but I don’t mind if you’d rather call me Shane instead,” he said, “I’m from West Australia, 2107 and I’m based with the Series 5 Galaxy Rangers team where I do a lot of mechanical work for the team, mostly fixing the ships that my team uses,” that he was responsible for why they needed to be repaired but he wasn’t going to mention that right now. “So I’d like to know your name, the year that you’re from and if you have any experience with either mechanical engineering or engineering in general or if you don't what you'd like to learn in this class,” he said.

Re: Introductions
Because it never hurt to put that out there in case anyone was looking for some blacksmithing they needed doing.
"I'm from back in a time where electricity really only existed in the hands of magic users who had a hand on lightning, but I like to think I've been making up for lost time ever since arriving here and realizing that it's pretty amazing stuff. I work with building my own machines, in addition to the blacksmithing stuff, so I'd say I'm a pretty fair hand at the engineering stuff, except when it comes to the more modern and technological things. So I figured taking this class might be a good way to brush up on some basics and maybe get a better grasp on the things that are a bit beyond what I'm used to."
Re: Introductions
"Hi! I'm Graham! I'm from
Handwavey year because please don't make me figure out a KQ calendar but definitely clearly not THIS year, and I'm not even sure I know what Mechanical Engineering is!"Just as he sounded far too excited for someone as sleep deprived as he'd been these last couple of days, he sounded far too pleased about this fact as well.
"But," he added with a grin, and a swipe of his finger in the air to show his can-do attitude and willingness to learn, "I'm eager to find out!"
