Sociology Special Topics: Sex Cultures (6th Period)

The lab is organized in the same fashion as it was yesterday, so that each student has a private work station at which to take his or her final. The Sex Cultures final contains only two sections - multiple choice on vocabulary, history, and concepts (no fill-ins for you dirty kids), and a short essay (which is on porn!). It's of moderate difficulty, and there are no trick questions.

The exam is timed to be completed in one class period. Grissom also explains that extra time will be allowed with permission, but that students may not exit and re-enter the classroom once the test begins (allowances of course would be made for things like seizures and body swaps.)

Any student not able to complete the exam today will be assigned a 10 page, researched and properly cited paper in lieu of a test, to be completed by the end of term. It should be submitted to a TA (Bel, Veronica, Cally, Lyta, or Paige) ~~in a handwavey kind of manner~~ so a grade can be received for their coursework ~~and that so no one is punished for RL hiatus or brainfart.~~

While the students take the exam, Grissom is at his desk, wrapping what suspiciously looks like a very girly present in a manner than can only be described as disturbingly methodical. The paper is also pink and sparkly, so chances are it's a gift for Lorelai.

Phoebe signs in for the last time. She's really ging to miss Grissom... and his classes.

She's been studying for his classes all along and does fairly well on the exam.

Bel doesn't ace the exam, but since he put a lot of effort into his presentations for the class he gets a good grade. :)

Allie? Kind of missed the whole exams being today announcement.

Anders? Sort of spent so much time being distracted by flailing and squirming and his girlfriend that he didn't pay that much attention in class. He passes, but barely.

Alanna spent the part of her weekend that she wasn't sleeping off the excesive use of her Gift studying. She spent more time sleeping.

Grissom does not look like a fan of trying to wrap what looks like a basket. Silly man.

Cally wordless leaves an orange wrapped package (http://squaremodels.com/images/vii3.jpg) on Grissom's desk.

She figures he'll know who it is from.

Grissom smiles broadly when he opens the package, and makes sure to pack its contents carefully on the very top of his last box to take out of the office.

Bel brings Grissom a plastic container with holes punched into it, containing what looks to be an ordinary, if large, cockroach...except for the glowing red eyes.

"Bel..." Grissom says with what can only be called a bug-eyed expression. "What...?"

"I snuck home and got one of our native roaches," Bel said. "He's yours if you want him. He should be safe but you may want to keep him away from anything flammable."

Grissom looks back down at the container, and then at Bel, and then at the container, and then at Bel.

"This is... the coolest thing I have ever seen."

Bel smiled happily. "Good, because you're the coolest teacher I've had," he said. "And I wanted to give you something to remember me by."

Alanna stopped by after class, a box in her hands.

"Hello, Alanna, can I help with you something?" Grissom asked as he put down the papers in his hands to give her his full attention.

"Um...thankyouforbeingagreatteacherandI'msorrytoseeyougo." Alanna managed on one breath.

Anders leaves a small octagonal manila envelope on Grissom's desk on his way out of class. It doesn't look like much, but if he opens it he'll find a (octagonal, of course) Caprica Buccaneers trading card.

It's not just any trading card, though, but one of those silly, overly-expensive customized souvenir cards, and one that's a bit battered and worn; the picture on it is of a twelve-year-old Anders, looking somewhat dwarfed in an oversized C-Bucs jersey and smiling brightly enough to light up an entire solar system.

The included note says:

Hey Doc Grissom,

Just a little ~~suv~~ ~~soovi~~ something to remember me by, if you wanna. Thanks for a great class.
