Wilderness Survival; Thursday, Second Period [04/07].
Class would be meeting in the danger shop that week, where they would find themselves in a setting that was only vaguely familiar on principle: it looked like any other sort of rocky forested wilderness, nothing really making it all that discernable or well-known except in the most broad sense.
"By now," Gladio started, "I'm hoping you guys feel pretty familiar and comfortable with the preserve, so we've moving it in here for this week's lesson, which is going to be navigation. Obviously, working with familiar terrain is great for that kind of thing out there in the real world, but not so great when trying to rely on techniques other than memory and recognition. So today, we're going to go over some ways to navigate in the wilderness, everything from a trusty compass to recognizing growth patterns in the local flora to help get you going the direction you need to go, including some a star navigation, although that comes with a big caveat because that's going to vary vastly based on what world you're dealing with. But, for the sake of ease, we'll be focusing on an Earth night sky.
"Alright, then," he grinned a little, clapped his hands together, and gave the girls a grin. "Let's get to it."
