Did Aphra seem especially cheerful and pleased with herself today? Yes, yes she did.

"You're in for a treat today kids," she said. "Because I'm going to be showing you one of the most amazing tricks...hang on, I need a volunteer. You, there, with the pink hair, come up here."

Vi looked so happy to be voluntold. Really she did.

"Now see your classmate here's tattoos?" Without waiting or asking for permission, Aphra grabbed Vi's arm and held it up for the class to see, cheerfully oblivious to the fact Vi was just barely keeping herself from responding with great violence. "Lovely work, really, for something clearly down with a retro technique, but it's lacking a little something something, unlike these."

Still holding onto Vi's arm, Aphra waved her free hand to show off her own elctro-tattoos. Which would be when she turned into a tooka.

"...the actual fuck?" Since Vi wasn't expecting the teacher to turn into a weird poro-cat-thing with creepy little hands, she reacted in a highly reasonable manner and shook her arm to get the weird animal off her. Aphra went flying off and scampered into the nearest vent.

Vi was still swearing up a storm when she also vanished from view and a furious hissing came from the pile of her clothes as a tiny pink kitten crawled out from them.

Well. That was unexpected.

Vi was not listening to Aphra, Vi was planning murder.

Personal space. It was a thing!

Your teacher and one of your classmates have just turned into animals. This is obviously a completely normal thing and will not result in you also turning into an animal.

Probably. I mean, it's not like the narrative's the boss of you or anything.

Vi was still planning murder. Sure it was going to be a lot harder to commit murder now she was a scrawny scrap of pink tabby with notched ears, but she was still planning it.

Libby knew it was probably not the best idea to get in the path of a tiny pink kitten with such murderous intent, but she also felt that was superceded by some sort of responsibility as the roommate of said tiny pink kitten with such murderous intent.

But this was all just the thing that the school did, right? With all the simulations and really realistic holograms? Vi couldn't really have turned into a cat....could she have?

"Vi?" she asked cautiously, after taking a look around to see if anyone else turned into an animal, too, even sort of touching her own arms to make sure she hadn't as well...at least not in any way she could tell. "Are you okay?"

Even if it was all just hologram stuff, turning into a cat had to be an experience.

Being small enough she could probably fit in Libby's hands was a very big impediment to any murderous intent.

Spoiler. It wasn't holograms. And Vi was very much not okay. Of course when she tried to say something to that effect, all that came out was a very tiny mew.

Libby liked to think of herself as pretty solidly immune to swooning over cute things, but that very tiny mew was definitely making her have second guesses about that. Thankfully, she had plenty of practice not laughing when faced with tiny adorable things, so she was able to hold that back, and, instead, just gave Vi an encouraging sort of smile.

"At least it'll just be for the rest of class," she offered confidently.

And boy would she be glad she had a light breakfast that day so there'd be enough room for when she'd be eating those words later.

Yes. Yes she would be.

Nestling into her pile of clothes, Vi fixed Libby with a tiny kitty glare.

You'd think, at this point, very odd and strange things happening suddenly and out of the blue in this class would be kind of a given, but Libby had to admit, her teacher and her roommate turning into animals was so far out of the purview of what she might have expected that she honestly sort of sat there too shocked to really know what to do for a moment. She'd shake herself out of it eventually (especially since she knew she needed to get better about that if she was going to be dealing with medical emergencies and the like some day!), but still...kind of a lot for a Monday morning here!

Was it necessary for Tahani to run shrieking from the room? Probably not, but she felt good about her choice anyway.

Guillermo blinked in confusion, he was definitely not used to (or at least at this point he wasn't used to) seeing someone turn into an animal let alone it happening twice so he just stared and wondered if this was going to be something that happened a lot.

Illyana just started laughing, because, well, she'd warned two of the people in this class about Fandom's... oddities. And now they had first-hand experience with it!

She was a GREAT Big Sister.

Illyana night have warned her, but Vi was too full of tiny kitty rage to appreciate that right now.

Nice ankles you had there, Illyana, shame if anything were to happen to them.

"Tssh, bad kitten," Illyana scolded, tucking her feet up under herself. "We will see if cats always land on their feet, if I drop you through a portal."

"If you'd seen this happen to someone else, you'd laugh too."

Or yell at the vent she just disappeared into. Same diff.
