Exit Strategies, Monday, Period 2

Aphra had the holoprojector out, which meant only one thing.

"Now, kids, I realise that I'm covering a wide skill-base here, and that's because it's good to know a little bit of everything, you never know what's going to come in handy when, but not everyone's a generalist, and that's okay," she said. "That's why we had that class on teamwork, because while there's nothing wrong with being a specialist, the narrower your focus, the more people you need around you to get anything done.

"Especially if what you want to accomplish is something spectacular."

Look, it was Aphra's favourite holo. She would find a way to work it into every class.

The opening of the movie had Vi on edge, even if it was taking place in a much nicer looking prison, but once the crimes started she was hooked.

Libby had seen more movies in the last month than she had seen in her entire life, and she was still every bit as thrilled about the next one as she was the last. Even if sometimes it was all a little bit much for her, but she tried to follow along as best she could without getting to distracted by wondering if Zo knew this movie and what she thought about it.

About the time the actress with the absolutely amazing cleavage appeared, Vi shifted closer to Libby to say in a low voice "I think this is the best movie I've ever seen."

Admittedly this was a hard decision to make as the one they shown in punching class last week (i.e. only other actual movie she'd ever seen) had also been pretty great, but, well, fantastic breasts.

Maybe it was just because she'd been there in the forefront of her mind as she watched, but Libby could have sworn it may as well have been Zo leaning in and whispering that in her ear. Feeling an unfamiliar heat rise up to her cheeks, she shifted a little uncomfortably where she sat, realizing that there was a good chance neither her roommate nor her best friend would be making that assessment strictly based on plot.

But trying her best not to think about that, she whispered back, "It is pretty good. But I think the best one I've seen so far was the one we watched about Moses in my literature class."

It had made her practically weep all throughout class.

In fact, she was starting to get a little misty-eyed right now just thinking back on it...

It wasn't like Vi was uninterested in the plot, and she was invested in the lead character getting back together with her ex-girlfriend. It was just, well, look at all the fantastic racks, Libby.

"Film about who?"

Maybe they could make a deal, and Vi could enjoy the...plot for them both.

"Oh," Libby offered eagerly, "Moses was one of God's Prophets, who lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land and brought down the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai."

Well, Vi already was enjoying it enough for two.

"Right." That sounded like more of Libby's creepy religion stuff. "I understood maybe three words of that."

Oh, it was definitely more of Libby's creepy religious stuff, but, to be fair, not even really the creepy religious stuff...

"Well," Libby said, grinning just faintly, "which three?"

And then she could work from there!

Vi took a moment to respond, because damn those costumes were showing off those women's assets.

"I got god, prophet, and slavery. Oh and commandment." Everything else seemed cult specific.

Look, it wasn't Vi's fault that she came from an entirely different world.

Yeah, maybe proselytizing to Vi in this exact current situation wasn't exactly the ideal, and Libby felt another distinct moment of discomfort in following Vi's distraction back to the screen. She gave a soft smile.

"Those are kind of the important ones, anyway," she offered helpfully. "It all happened a long time ago, anyway, but that's what lead Moses to being God's lawkeeper and a leader of his people, as well as writing the Torah, which is the first part of the Bible, and basically starting Judaism, which is what people of God believed in before Jesus came around..."

Which she understood was just throwing more things that Vi didn't know about at her, but that was what lead to asking more questions to learn more, right?

Considering the question Vi was very carefully not asking was 'which of these two dudes came up with the batshit bullshit?', it was probably a good thing her attention was split in favour of attractive women being incredibly hot and compent, rather than theology.

"Right, right."

Guillermo hadn’t seen this movie, on account of the fact that it was still about 18 years before it got released in his time and also it wasn’t the kind of movie he usually watched.

That said he still ended up enjoying this movie quite a lot, maybe he should look into watching more heist movies.
