It look liked today was going to be chilly. It was going to be rainy. And while that would have actually have been perfect for the class Gladio would have liked to have run, even he would have felt a little bad if he wound up getting a bunch of teenage girls (and possibly one mountain cat) sick from being outside in the cold rain for an extended period of time.

So they were not actually traipsing through the wilderness outside in the rain that day. They were, instead, traipsing through the winderness inside the danger shop instead, so they may as well have been, but with a much smaller chance of catching an actual cold.

"Weather!" he started with far too much of a grin for how much rain was being poured on them. "Sometimes, it's a bitch. But you gotta do what you gotta do, so today, we're going to make sure that we know what to do to get safe and dry even when the world seems to be doing its best to make it otherwise. So I'm going to show you some of the best ways to set up a tent, even in the rain, and then we'll work on seeing how you guys do with it. And if you're able to pull it off...there might be some towels and hot chocolate in it at the end for your troubles, too."

Gladio is obviously demonstrating as he explains the finer details to putting up a tent, even in the rain, with the little tips about preparation and having the right kind of gear of the job (naturally dropping in Coleman^TM as a solid brand suggestion), and he's at least trying to not make it look too easy, especially since he suspects that rain still constantly falling down on them might be a little distracting, too.

And now it's your turn! Work together, try to go it solo, or complain about how it's much easier to just have other people do it! You do you, but the sooner you do the tent thing, the sooner you can dry off.

Alara was finding building a tent to be a bit of a struggle, especially in the rain and she kept breaking the nails when she tried to hammer them down.

It was going to take her a while to set up the tent.

"WHyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy can't I just book a hotel?" Tahani whined.

"No hotels in the wilderness," Gladio pointed out. Not smirking. Of course not. Smirking over your students' misery would be highly unprofessional. "If there were, it wouldn't be the wilderness anymore, now, would it?"

"There's not even a cute little ecotourism bed and breakfast?" Tahani wheedled.

"You're lookin' at 'em," Gladio said, hitching his thumb toward the tents. "Consider it a nice...rustic DIY."

Some of them had different colors in the detailing! That was cute, right?

Tahani wrinkled her nose. "I assume there is a manicure and massage scheduled for after."

Shockingly, leading a revolution that involved marching an army across an island nation meant Jules had gotten very good at setting up a tent, so hers was done fairly quickly.

Once she was done (and Camden had crawled inside to escape the fake-rain), she looked around for anyone who might need some help.

Congratulations! You either built your tent in the rain or you latched on to someone else who did! Now you can just enjoy being slightly less damp and have some hot chocolate and enjoy the pitter-patter of rain on plastic!

Who would definitely consider this as a 'fun way to spend the afternoon' without even an ounce of irony. He might actually go do that in the preserve with a book once class got out, now that he thought about it.
