Guiding the Powerful Yet Incompetent, Monday, Fourth Period
"The last time we met," and everyone would kindly ignore how long ago that might have been, "you decided to..." Please hold while Yennefer consulted her notes. Oh. That was what they had decided. "Convince the duke that it would be an honor to have the king take his tapestries. Well. The good news is that the duke let the king take his tapestries without any sort of a fuss. The bad news is that he didn't do that because he thought it was any sort of an honor, but because the king is the king and he rather likes having his head attached to his body. So now he's rather miffed, all the other nobles are planning to hide their valuables before the king comes to visit, and his majesty is proudly displaying the feats of someone else's ancestors in textile form in the south hall. The situation could be worse."
Of course the situation was worse. Yennefer took a deep breath and said, "However. The king finds that the south hall's decor doesn't quite suit his new tapestries, and he wants to build a new wing on the castle to house them. This is going to be incredibly expensive and he's going to have to raise taxes. How do you advise him to proceed?"

That might be wine in her travel mug, though.
